I've gone to the pictures a couple of times recently.
SEABISCUIT was excellent. The story was very interesting- all the more so since it was true. The cinematography is beautiful too.Well worth watching.

LOVE ACTUALLY I saw last night. This is very much a Brit pack film with lots of well known actors (Liam Neeson and Colin Firth to mention but two hunks drool.gif ). It is a real chick flick with lots of ahhh moments and lots of laughs. It is a real feel-good movie and would be great to watch around Christmas.

Dont think I have actually posted on here before, its been so long since I visited. I upgraged to Broadband and havent been able to get in until tonight!

Anyhooo, I went to see Mystic River at the weekend and I really enjoyed it. Not an overly complicated plot, as some have you following twists and turns until you feel sea sick, but it was well acted - Sean Penn was brilliant! Not a MAJOR fan of his, but he was GOOOD.

It was getting a bit predictable towards the end, but still held your interest to see what would happen to the various people involved.

My boyfriend "liked" it (I said that since C Eastwood was behind the camera and not in front it didnt stand much chance with him!) but wasnt overly enthusiastic about it, ah well!! biggrin.gif

I'm more of a renter than a go to the movies type. That said, rent A Mighty Wind. It's a mockumentary of folk music, in the vein of This is Spinal Tap. It was produced by Christopher Guest (a hero to geeks everywhere), and has the same Spinal Tap cast. Besides being a hilarious movie, the music is fantastic! Get both movies and make it a double feature.

The Italian Job was a wonderful suprize, It was much better that I expected. I would love to see the original (made in 1966 or 67) again.

I haven't seen "So I Married an Axe Murderer" or "This is Spinal Tap" in quite a while but both are hilarious. Going to have to get them soon.

Just watched "Ronin" on Friday and in the next couple of days I'm going to watch one of the my favourite mob movies (irish mob), "State of Grace".

I have the movie, Ronin! Very good movie! I love anything that Robert De Niro does anyway.

I also happen to like mob movies! cool.gif My favorite being The Godfather series. I am half Italian. I guess that is where it comes from! angel_not.gif laugh.gif

Last night I watched a movie called "Incognito" about an artist who makes his living forging Old Master's artwork. He wants to get out of it and do his own thing, but accepts one more job, a Rembrandt! Being an artist myself and Rembrandt being my very favorite old master, I was enthralled with this movie. It was real neat to see the artist at work and all the angst that can go with producing a piece. The soundtrack was spectacular. very moving and very inspiring. I had my bum back in the studio working today! The sad thing about this movie is that it never made it to the theatres. I just happened upon it at the video store as it was for sale and I knew it was my kind of movie so I bought it! Glad I did.

This weekend since I hit my right foot on a chair, and I've had it up in the air with an icepak on it, I've watched several movies...

Finding Nemo

Lara Kroft, Pandora's Box

Terminator 3

The Sound of Music on DVD

Yes, changing all VHS tapes over to DVD...there is a big difference in quality of the picture...
