Multi-millionaire advertises for virgin bride in China

SHANGHAI (AFP) - A Chinese multi-millionaire has resorted to advertising in newspapers, magazines and websites in hopes of finding his perfect bride -- a 20 to 25-year-old virgin, state press said.

The 31-year-old man, whose name was not revealed, insists that he has strong traditional Chinese values and can neither accept women with an "avant-garde spirit" nor foreigners, various local newspapers reported.

A website specially set up for the eligible bachelor, who claims to be worth 100 million yuan (12 million dollars), has received thousands of messages since it was launched on July 4, reports said.

While many people have accused him of a publicity stunt, hundreds of women have expressed interest, some of them apparently still in high school.

To each their own, but that's weird. I don't agree with that and that's why I refuse to watch those reality shows. They are never in it for the right reasons.

O.K. ladies, how about one of these? Loyal, affectionate, protective, just feed him regular, pat him on the head and tell him what a handsome boy he is and he'll be devoted to you for life.

I know what you're thinking, yes he will jump up and slobber on you. He is a bit harry and smelly, and do you really want to take the time needed to take care of one of these?

Well you can always get the dog.

Having extra wives could be a problem, too. From Reuters:

TEHRAN (Reuters) - All three wives of a 67-year-old Iranian man took overdoses in an unsuccessful triple suicide attempt after the youngest wife bought an expensive pair of boots, a news agency reported on Sunday.
"My two other wives were very jealous after my 27-year-old wife bought a pair of boots for $450," the husband was quoted as saying by the ISNA student news agency.

"After they had an argument about the price, they all attempted suicide together," he added.

All three women, now in stable condition in the hospital, have separate apartments and cars.

Men in Iran, where Islamic law has been in force since 1979, can marry up to four wives, although polygamy is fairly rare.
