Why? Because the education into the various uses of cheese and socks would be absolutely priceless.

The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859
Education: that which reveals to the wise, and conceals from the stupid, the vast limits of their knowledge. ~Mark Twain
This is most certainly a hard one to answer. I really don't want to put anyone out.
I'd have to say Raven. The guy is such a good fellow, has helped me out every chance he could. I've got so much in common with the guy too. At least it seems that way every time I chat with him. But I'd have to skip the dinner and go straight to the jam. Plenty of Scotch, of course.
But therein lies the problem. How could I have a jam without inviting Jason along? Or Peckery for rhythm.
I honestly would really love to meet those mentioned above, as well as Deb, Aaed, Mirri, Angelina, Mac (both Erca and five )... alright, I'm going to name half the members on the site if I don't stop now. I'm so glad we're having the CR meet in '08.

"I am a Canadian by birth, but I am a Highlander by blood and feel under an obligation to do all I can for the sake of the Highlanders and their literature.... I have never yet spoken a word of English to any of my children. They can speak as much English as they like to others, but when they talk to me they have to talk in Gaelic."
-Alexander Maclean Sinclair of Goshen (protector of Gaelic Culture)
*pondering* "Decisions...decisions..." * heavy sigh* Oh well, I agree with oldraven...I'm also sooo glad we'll meet in 2008!

I think it would have to be barddas (the old fool) He was the first one I 'met' here on Highlander Radio (so we go waaaaayyyy back ) and having dinner one day with Brother R and Sis A is a given.
Of course how could I forget Sis Squash, gaberlunzie, my Pittsburgh pal Paula, Todd, and.... and....
AND I'd love to have dinner with Shadows to convince him I really am a nice person. Besides, he probably would know what to order from the menu.

Compassion is the sometimes fatal capacity for feeling what it is like inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too. - Frederick Buechner
If society prospers at the expense of the intangibles, how can it be called progress?
I'd have to say Maisky so I could try to cure him of the disease that caused him to be a Cubs fan ...

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Even though I like a lot of you, I would have to say WizardofOwls. He was the first to talk to me when I joined and def made me feel comfortable. And he's always one of the first ones to try to comfort people when they are feeling down. Thanks WizardofOwls for being such a caring guy! Cheers-
