See this and being Clan Ross, and Having Taylors in my family line inspired me to go and look at the family tree chart my parents  made from their research. Our Family lines are from North Carolin and our Taylor line ends with a John Taylor born 1750. Guess there is not a connection 'cept for maybe 12th cousind

Easy way to add images to your post is just hit the image button on the right side of the text formating bar. Just enter in the URL for your desired image and you'll get an image. I think what you were trying was similar to the hyperlink coding. for images you just use the follow

And this will give you the picture if you want to type it out but easiest just to hit the image button and let the system do the work for you.

No just learning but have been slowly getting better at it. I use PSP 5 & 7 and also MS paint for most my graphics, but still learning the neat tricks.

Thanks for the link will be useful always looking for fun animations. All the smilies I gained through friends and sites. For my animation GIF's I use GIF construction set is a demo but it's a demo that never expires so is basically a free program.

I am not sure how I missed this post but it is interesting! Okay you are right we may be 12th cousins - however we may be closer than that! My Grandpa's grandpa came across the "pond" with a brother named John. However, "Taylor" is a very common name  since it is a "trade" name. Please contact me at [email protected] if you would like to compare notes.

I once discovered that I am also possibly related to some African-American Taylors too, but that is another very long story!

Another family connection is through Civil War General  Winfield Scott.

Well what would happen if your stewart and his/her stewart weren't directly related? I did find it funny though this chart I have in a genealogy book does stop at level 6. I wonder if it's possible to go even further back? Another question would be lets says for example you had never married into an asian family in your family history at all. And an asian family had never married out of their race. Then how would that make you and him/her 6th cousins? It is interesting thought though. Will have to try and look into this.

Okay, you don't have to be religious to be Scottish.

Here is my skimpy Scottish History. It is all based mostly on oral family tradition - very little documentation survived the Civil War Reconstruction Period, when courthouses all around along with legal documents were burned to the ground.

Father's side of the family - Kenny Stewart married to my mother, then they divorced when I was two. He had flowing natural blonde hair and a long red beard, so it can be assumed that he was of Scottish descent.

Well, I approach my genealogy research with a big grain of salt. I was never worried about finding the skeletons in the family closet - on the contrary, we are probably considered the skeletons in someone else's family closet!  

We are characteristically "Highlanders" so I do not know if our ways come to us by nature or by design   ! If a Highlander is characterized as being "wild and wooley," then does that make my "wild and wooley" relatives *black sheep*  or just *highlander sheep*? I guess it depends upon your point of perspective!

PEI is a nice island. Was up there a few years ago on a tour my wife and her father and I did of that portion of Canada. Had allot of fun. Went to see Anna of Green Gables play and went to the homes of the author and to Green Gables homestead itself. Was allot of fun. Though I enjoy Halifax the best on that trip was a real nice city.

And not to worry KYLASSIE we don't mind having to lassies on the board.  

Oh and KYlassie did I get Uncle Joes clothing down pat?

I found this and I just HAD to post it here! Scottish2, this is what our last family reunion looked like - the last "official" one was ten years ago and we now have a mutually agreed upon ban on any future family reunions! There are 12 siblings in my mothers family, plus 36 cousins. There was drinking, fist fighting, and destruction of property, and general #### raising that my grandmother got really mad about! We still love each other and keep in touch by emails, though.
