| Post Rating has not been activate for resource gathering of Gold, Food and Wood.
You will receive only a percentage of your allocated resources based on your post rating. The minimum percentage will be 25% (for any post ratings below 25%) and the maximum post rating will be 100%

| Well i dreaded the day this would come . Im not a very wordy person so i'm afraid i might get stuck with a low percentage for not posting often or larger posts.
Oh well, hope this doest bite me in the mine pit.

|Though this does pose the question. How often are the post ratings calculate? If its once a week or once a day then all you have to do is wait till just before it recalculates and start posting like crazy. Or just post once or twice a day etc.|

| I am very curious as to the post ratings percentage based on meaningful content. If a forum full of one liners or just people patting each other on the back how can you truly post a message full of meaningful content. Is it decided by one person, a group of people, or just an algorithm where content is actually based on size of the post and number of characters used vs. what is actually being said. I know that in most cases i can post a small single sentence response to someone that is as meaningful as a multi-paragraph response that is vague or repetitive.
Could someone help me clarify what meaningful truely means in context of post ratings?

|I have a similar question, as I don't post wordy responses. Usually just fun and games stuff. Would I be better off posting mini-paragraphs once or twice instead of just playing the games. Thanks for the help!|

|better off not posting at all..Thats what everyone else is saying.. so i dunno|

New users to this site, with no posts yet, have a post rating of "none." I guess that depends on how a "none" is interpreted: is it considered to be a zero? If so, you really need to post something to get that up a bit.
|Posted by: CelticRadio 30-Aug-2008, 09:51 PM|
| If your post rating is none or up to 24%, then it will calculate at 25% minimum resources.
Post rating calculates in the past so many days and examines your posts for the number of letters. It really does not take all that many posts to get you a 100% rating.
If you feel the rating is hard to obtain or sustain, we can adjust the post rating formula. Also, do you think this is an unneeded distraction from the game, let us know.

|unneeded distraction from the game|
|Posted by: Harlot 31-Aug-2008, 12:40 AM|
| The only real time I could post would be on the week-ends. I could stay up all nite and post. I would do the fun and games, get some Hello's to the new people.
I would say do alway with it, or do it another way.

| Unneeded distraction..... I mean number of post's vs letters in post? Then all i have to do is once a day or week, copy and past an entire article from wiki or an online newspaper and that would boost my rating.

I have suggestion pertaining to this: You've said that at some point in the future the gold will be able to be used in auctions for real life items. So, how about instead of our post rating determining what percentage of resources we get, our post rating sets how much our gold is worth for the auctions? A hundred gold for someone with 100% post rating would be worth the full hundred but for someone with 50% that same hundred would only be worth fifty for the auction. I'm not sure how difficult something like that would be to implement but I thought I should put the idea out there.

| Now that is an idea i like!!!!
Great work on that one.

| i like it too

|Aye, I think the Lad's got somethin' .....Great idea|

| This is work in progress so we will definitely consider this when tweaking the game. We will re-evaluate this once we build the auction site.
Consider too that it really does not take all that much to get your rating up to 100%. The benefits are 100% resources allocated.
Minimum resource allocation is 25%.

| I feel its an unneeded distraction as well.

| The basic reason for the post rating is to encourage people to participate in the regular forums. Paul, if you intend to keep the game closely tied to Celtic Radio, then the post rating is a fair method of trying to get people more involved in other areas of the site and to join in discussions. If you want to "spin off" the game as a stand alone project, then the post rating is not really appropriate. So my two cents worth is, it depends on where you're going with the game.
Yes, I know my rating is 100%, but there have been times in the past that it was a lot lower. Sometimes I feel like posting, other times I'll go a while and not even show up. Variability is just one facet in the nature of the beast. From that perspective, post ratings could be viewed as just another strategy in the game. Someone could take advantage or not as it suited them.

Thanks for your feedback and yes, we want to keep this as a way to encourage posting. We are not looking to have this as a stand alone game. I think once we have the homepage up for this game things will be alot clear on what we are trying to accomplish.

|It would appear that once again, the more I post the lower my rating becomes. Do the posts made increase ones rating weekly, monthly? I posted more in the last week than in the last 3 months.|

| Posting for the only purpose of getting more gold is the same as writing a long essay to get a better grade. More filler begets more gold so in that theory it defeats the purpose to cut and paste longwinded quotes from say Beowulf?
Then a powerful demon, a prowler through the dark, nursed a hard grievance. It harrowed him to hear the din of the loud banquet every day in the hall, the harp being struck and the clear song of a...
And a young prince must be prudent like that, giving freely while his father lives so that afterwards in age when fighting starts steadfast companions will stand by him and hold the line.
My point exactly. Why post anything if it just inserting filler adds to your rating?
In reality. I do not have the time to post so I don't.

It's a good point dalhorn but I know for me personally, the post rating system simply reminds me to check in once in a while. I often find interesting topics being discussed that otherwise, I probably wouldn't have ever noticed.
There will always be scammers out there, just look at the programs run by the U.S. government that are so overly abused... (oops wrong forum for that one) and hey, you did take the time to post in here so I guess the post rating system works to some degree!

|I currently have 3 different post ratings, one for Celtic radio and two for the game which one is used and which one is correct?|
|Posted by: Squire 11-Jan-2018, 07:53 AM|
|And like the person stated above it seems the more I post the lower my rating????|
|Posted by: CelticRadio 08-Feb-2018, 08:56 PM|
| Looks like your post rating is currently 100% which is really good. I think part of the problem might be the script updates maybe weekly so it might not have catched everything at once.
Let me know if you still think you are not getting a good post rating.
