I have an extensive collection of cookery books - many by Scottish chefs. I thought this might make an interesting thread.

A SCOTS KITCHEN

One of my favourites is a book called 'A Scots Kitchen' by F Marian McNeill. I have my grandmother's copy which is a first edition (published - I think - in 1929!! I have bought another copy recently, as the old copy is now almost falling apart. If only my Granny hadn't USED it - it might be worth some money nowadays!

This is not just a cookery book, it shows a fascinating look into Scottish food and culture over the past few hundred years.

The Scots Kitchen is a WONDERFUL book! I have enjoyed reading it. ( yes, I read cookbooks.)
The lore, and history, and antedotes make the book a paperbound treasure!

I am also getting ready to order a few of Delia's (sp) books too.
