While we have a steady stream of non-label music, we would like to supplement this with the latest music that we may not necessarily receive directly from the artist and is part of one of the major labels.

Our license through Live365 allows us to play all major labels, so if there is a major release by a well known artist such as Great Big Sea, Natalie MacMaster, etc. - please post it here so we can try and obtain this music ourselves. We will try and obtain a CD from the artist and if that fails we do have a small budget each month for new music.

Thanks for your help and hoping to hear about some great new releases!

Try the group "Smithfield Fair" as I haven't yet heard a piece by them on Highlander Radio - although I am relatively new. www.smithfieldfair.com

I don't see anything in here on the band, Clandestine. did I miss it? If not? You need to find out who they are and listen!. The main musician for me is piper, EJ Jones. If I am not mistaken, he founded Clandestine but then got involved with The Rogues for a few years. I discovered this very talented piper when he played with the Rogues. I had the opportunity to meet and hear him play with his once again band, Clandestine! Emily, the lead singer has one of the most beautiful voices I have heard. All musicians in this band are extremely talented! They have a new CD out called, "Red."

Just found this band tonight by the name of Brother. I haven't heard of them before but they ar from Austrailia-now in US. They have about 15 albums out.

Here is a link to the website.

http://www.brothermusic.com/

There is a media player on the left hand side were you can listen to a couple of selections by hitting the double arrows. Otherwise they just switch on their own-normal stuff Check out the Romp and Circumstance edit. (3rd selection)

I know the boys of The Fuchsia Band have got a new album in the works. I'm thinking it might be out this fall. If I hear of any others I'll certainly let you know.

here I was gonna edit my last post but I guess that's not the right button. Oh well.

You might want to look at the list for Rounder Records Corp. and have a listen to The Cottars. I don't know if they've got multiple albums out but I do have a copy of "Forerunner" released in 2006 and I play it often. I did have the good fortune of seeing them perform live and it was a fantastic show.

Welcome Coastychick,

My father & his family are from Portchester, though I live in Kentucky. I haven't heard of the group Coast, but Highlander Radio has 3 of their songs available for the request line. Put Coast in the search field at the very top of this website, then narrow to "artist" search.

I'm going to request them and give them a try.

Thanks GramPam you are so right ~ Skully's Irish Makeover has done Very well here on Celtic Radio ~

Here's a few words from Skully about this fantastic album ~

I cannot take credit for the concept here, that accolade must go to Charlie Pinder Sony/V2/Burlywood. One rainy winters night in Cork, he came up with the idea of doing Old Irish folk songs, a la Skully! And so two years ago I set to work creating Skully versions of these beautiful old Irish songs. Although very electronic (after all that is what I do!) I strove to maintain the powerful emotion that these timeless master pieces possess. The album was recorded at the beautiful Rushbrook Hotel in Cobh, where I was spoilt rotten! and at my little cottage (Seen in the photos) I would like to sincerely thank all the artists who gave me their time and talent, each adding his or her own color and style to the songs. We had great fun making it! I hope everyone supporting it here, has the same fun listening! Skully.

Band Members Skully, with guests : Annette Buckley, Kate Murphy, Myles O'Reilly, Mick Flannery and Karl Nesbitt.
