You mean there are people that don't like bagpipes, Irish and Scottish music!

Hehe, yes kinda silly to say - especially on this site.
I was so excited to see the show, but they kept on interupting it looking for donations. I wish they would have showed the entire show. I think they wanted the viewers to buy it for $90!
Uh, must've been on WGBH, because I just checked my PBS affiliate and it wasn't on here in Chicago tonight. I will keep an eye out for it though.

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
I have looked everywhere for this live show called Scotland the Brave. Man, it had everything. Bagpipers, dancers, Burns poems with music....it was absolutely fantasticly exciting. I just can not find it anywhere and I am not about to shell out $90 to obtain the DVD.
Looked on amazon and did not see it there either. I do believe it was filmed in New Zealand. If anyone finds this on the web please let us know here!
I found the company that manufactures/distributes the show. I emailed them inquiring if the DVD is available in the U.S. (which, if PBS was offering it, it must be somewhere).

As someone who has volunteered at my local PBS station many times, let me tell you a secret: nearly any and every DVD they offer as a pledge gift can also be found at the PBS video website or in their catalog. I don't remember the exact URL, but www.pbs.org would have a link to it.
So if you ever REALLY want a DVD, don't wait for pledge time to roll around. Just visit the site and get it.
But please still support your local PBS station.

They don't have it. I already looked there first. But thanks.
Here is the response I got from the distributor (whom is in Australia):

Hi Brian Unfortunately we are a Australian wholesaler only . We only manufacture Region 4 DVD's and I could not tell you if there is a Region 1 release any where in the world , Sorry Regards Michael
The distributor is Roadshow Productions, apparently a division of Village Roadshow. I'll look more into it later, but if someone else wants to try to track this down, you might want to start with finding out about the U.S. company, Village Roadshow.

I believe that nothing beyond those natural laws is needed. I have no evidence for this. It is simply what I have faith in and what I believe.” - - - Isaac Asimov

If you don't mind a bit of work there are plenty of ways around it. Doom9 is a great source of information about all things related to DVDs. Options would be to obtain or modify your home DVD player to be region free. If you have a DVD burner, you ought to be able to rip it and then make a new disc out of it. There are usually video places in town that have facilities for converting stuff from one region to another. They'd probably be able to handle the PAL to NTSC conversion if needed. I'm really rusty on all my video knowlege but that link ought to be a place where you can look around if you're passionate about having that video and no North American importers have it.
