| This is a poem I wrote in school. Its about a horse I used to ride. She died. Before she died I wrote this.She was very old though 30 yrs old. her name was Elderberry I can hear it so loudly as I gallop through the mist with her. Rider and horse put together. I can hear her own breath, breathing so loudly. I can feel her soft fluffy winter coat. A musty taste as we gallop , Through brush and weeds. A sweet smell comes from her. Elderberry is her name , buckskin color with a dorsal stripe down her back. She tires as we pick up speed so I slow her down and she drinks from the river. Her black hoofs full of mudd and rocks. All I see is a blur when we gallop again , a blur of life going by. As we pick up speed we see a beautiful sunset. We see all the colors in the sky mix. She gallops if we were flying , it feels like her hoofs don't even touch the ground. We slow down to a canter , as if she were a strong wooden rocking horse. All I hear is the strong wind and all I feel is the wind blowing on my face. She sees that blur and she too sees that life is going by as a blur. |
