Thanks Camac,

And by the way I am becoming greedy while I read your poems I wish that there would be a voice attached to them.
Call me a sentimental...sorry they're so lovely.LOA

LOA;

I appreciate all the kind remarks you have made regarding my poems and sometimes being a little greedy is good for the soul. As to the voice I wish I could
add it to the postings but suffice it to say that I write far far better than what I speak.

Longing

I long for Friends
Who are all gone
For Family that
I have no more
My Days of Glory
Are all spent
My Dutys' done
With no regret
A Soldiers' garb
I have long worn
The Joys, the Sorrows
That I have known
The Friends and Lassies
Aye Enemies too
All pass before me
In review.
The sounds of War
The scream of shell
Above it all
The Pipes call out
As Highland lads
March into Hell
Another Victory
Rightly gained
But now I hear
The Last Post play
As I lay to rest
In Albas' soil
And in the morn
Reveille will sound
To Tell my Soul
I have come Home.

Camac,

This is so beautiful I'm speachless. You are truly a soldier at heart aren't you?
A question... I have a collection of poems that I wrote and keep in a special book would you mind if I translate yours in it? Sometimes I just sit there and take out my book and read them again and again.
Thank you very much. smile.gif LOA

My Dear Lady you most certainly do have my permission to do so. As to being a soldier at heart yes but also in the blood as I come from a very long and ancient line of Soldiers and like all Soldiers I detest War.
