Hello Celtic Peoples!

The 8th annual Cariboo Highland Games are coming up on June 1 & 2, 2007 in Quesnel, BC, Canada. We will be hosting 5 Pipe & Drum corps from around the province, Scottish dancing, "The Brave Heart Challenge" and lots of fun in our own version of the traditional Highland Games of Scotland.

Teams of eight, with 2 women minimum, will compete in the Brave Heart Challenge. Together they will face the daunting task of meeting other teams in the Caber Toss, Oatmeal Gobble, Haggis Hurl, Truck Pull, Sheaf Throwing and the William Wallace Memorial Relay to name but a few events. Saturday morning and afternoon events are free to the public.

On Saturday evening is the Ceilidh where a feast of roasted pigs, potatoes, salads, desserts plus tea and coffee can be had for only $25 a ticket! We are limited to a total of 200 tickets and they will be going fast. A wonderful night of Highland Music and Scottish dancing followed by a dance with music of the recent years.

We invite you to look us up on the internet at www.cariboohighlandgames.com

Well, the Cariboo Highland Games have come to a close for this year and they were one of the most successful we have ever held!

Our ceilidh was very well attended and there was a feast of 2 roast pigs, potatoes, salads, buns, coffee and, of course, a very busy bar.

The music and the dancing will be playing through peoples minds for many days to come. We had great traditional music from the pipe and drum bands from around BC, but also got an interesting version of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and other modern classics.

The Cariboo Highland Games Society worked very hard to present a truly memorable 2 day event and each member is expected to sleep for 3 days before emerging from their nests.
