The Broken Rainbow
I saw a rainbow
In the light sky
Floating there
While birds fly
No rain had come
Down where I sat
No rain but only
A rainbow?s hat
It was broken
Into pieces
One, two, three
For all to see
Clouds covering
The broken parts
Wondering how
To put it together now?
It was beautiful
In the summer sky
I wanted to go up
And touch it?so high!
I wanted to climb
The rainbow stairs
And find the village
Of rainbow people
I wanted to taste
Those enchanted delights
To witness the sky?s
Changing colors from above
But I was down here
Waiting patiently below
As I drove through wet roads
On my way home
On my way home
I wondered how
I saw a rainbow
Broken into parts!
