Anyone else love her music ???

Enya is a tough one for me. There are some of her songs that I absolutely love. There are some that just bore me to tears.

Having said that, she is an awesome talent and very influential in a lot of ways. Her voice is excellent and really relaxing. Every time a song of hers comes up on Highlander or Sirius, I definitely give a listen.

Love Enya! I have all but her latest album/CD.
I like that her music is so atmospheric. I would put on a few of her CDs, the last time I read thru the Lord of the Rings. Made an excellent soundtrack for my journey thru Middle Earth!

I've noticed that Enya's work all seems to sound the same after a while. While I like listening to it from time to time, I do wish she would try her hand at other forms and mix up the sounds a little bit. Give it a fresh feeling again like the first day we heard Orinoco Flow...

I love Enya! Doesn't she sing in Adiemus by Karl Jenkins? Karl Jenkins went to my comprehensive (high) school and came to visit the odd time I was a pupil there.
I think I might go buy Amarantine - I've been inspired by this forum...

She updated her site a bit. They are suppose to be loading more (but not new) videos onto the site. You can still see more on youtube than on the website. New Christmas single at Target stores only.

Just picked up her christmas CD today at target for $6. All the songs on the CD have been released before except for Music of the Night which was okay. Sadly theCd was located in one of those plywood looking displays which have a batch of generic CDs where you can hear selections by pushing on the picture of the cd. Doesn't look like a too promising career booster for Enya.

I've always loved Enya myself. I haven't gotten her more recent albums due to not wishing to support RIAA. I usually buy CDs from independent artists who self produce their albums. Since I work on the sound crew for San Diego Folk Heritage, I get to meet a lot of independent musicians.

Love her! what is even better, my 4 boys love her, my mom bought her latest and they love it. It works amazingly well to calm the 2 middle boys when they have a meltdown,If they are having an especially tough time and major meltdowns, pop in a cd of the pipes and whewwww, all is calm again!

They updated the watchtower section. All of her videos are there now. And there is a special edition of Amarantine out with a book about the Loxian songs.

So tonight that little voice inside my head said "Go check out Enya's website-there may be something new there" Nay, I say to myself, she takes forever to release new stuff-at least another four yrears. But the voice was persistant so I went and checked it out and this is what I found.....

Enya will release her brand new studio album 'And Winter Came' on November 10th on Warner Bros. Records. Two years in the making, 'And Winter Came' was recorded at Aigle Studios near Dublin and is once again the result of Enya's longstanding creative team with producer/arranger Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan.

Go check it out for yourself

Hopefully there will be an LP version too of the new album. I was just looking in Amazon.com's Vinyl Store and seeing what they've got available. They've got in LP format much of her output from 1988-1992 it seems like. Any recommendations in for a first album from this period to buy?

In Memory of Trees was always my favorite but I don't think it falls into that time period. If you can get "Paint the Sky with Stars" that would be equivilant to a greatest hits album. But that was releasae way past ' 92

New CD coming out
From the website:
Warner Music will be releasing a new 'Best of Enya' album this coming November 16th. The album will include titles from all the Warner albums with favourite songs chosen by Enya, Nicky and Roma. A special edition will contain DVD and documentary footage. Details to follow.

Posted by: Robert Phoenix 13-Oct-2009, 07:31 PM
The CD/DVD will contain most of the Enya music videos over the years all the way up to the "And Winter Came" videos. The listing for the videos is:
1.Orinoco Flow

2.Caribbean Blue

3.Only Time

4.The Celts

5.Amarantine

6.Trains And Winter Rains

7.Evening Falls

8.Anywhere Is

9.It's In The Rain

10.Wild Child

11.Only If

12.Storms In Africa

13.On My Way Home

I'm not sure whether the CD/DVD release will be available everywhere (I hope so) or just in certain stores.
