I'm guessing that to "cleanse the pallettes", you had either A. Coronas with lime, or B. a pitcher of margaritas.

I just had the grocery store brand with sausage biggrin.gif ! It's better than Tombstone, which is like cardboard.

When they lived closer to us, my sister and brother-in-law used to go to this one place across the street from my high school that sold these do-it-yourself pizza kits. They used to love them. So did Megan & Jay, because they got to help Mommy & Daddy biggrin.gif .

Posted by: MDF3530 23-May-2007, 05:04 PM
Cheeseburger on the ol' George Foreman grill and some fries from McDonalds tonight.

Last night, I tried Del Taco for the first time. Del Taco is a chain, primarily based on the West Coast I think, that opened up a restaurant near me a couple of months ago. While driving past it yesterday, I saw they had a special on Tuesdays. Three tacos for $1.39. I decided it was time to give it a try. It was pretty good.

Posted by: MDF3530 03-Jun-2007, 03:49 PM
Tonight: steak at my parents'.

Last night: homemade beef quesadillas. I saw it on a cooking show a few days ago and it looked real easy. It was pretty good for my first time.

Quesadillas again!

This should be interesting though. It's leftover meat from the previous two times I made them and I used two different brands of taco seasoning. Not sure how this is gonna turn out laugh.gif .

Posted by: gaberlunzie 29-Sep-2007, 02:41 PM
Tonight it was fish and chips, yes, I know, too much fat and quite unhealthy - but ooooooooh so yummy! laugh.gif
How boring would life be without a wee sin now and then, no? angel_not.gif

Posted by: MDF3530 30-Sep-2007, 04:15 PM
Gaberlunzie, I had something about as unhealthy as your dinner last night. I had fried chicken. I had a coupon for a local chain. $2.99 for two pieces (drumstick & thigh, naturally), a biscuit and a side of mashed potatoes. This local chain, Brown's, has mashed potatoes that are more edible than KFC's.

No idea what I'm having tonight.

Posted by: gaberlunzie 01-Oct-2007, 03:37 AM
Well, to make up for my "sin" it will be a big bowl of salad tonight; I usually use lettuce, tomatos, curcumber, bell peppers, radish, omions, fresh herbs, a bit of cheese and ham or stripes of grilled chicken breast - whatever I still have in my fridge. If I'm back home from work in time I might bake some fresh cornbread, too... chef.gif

Posted by: stoirmeil 01-Oct-2007, 10:19 AM
Ugh, heaven knows. Whatever the school cafeteria is featuring today, or probably something off the salad bar. Mondays are my long, long day -- from 8AM to 8PM, with a single one-hour break at 3:30. sad.gif

Wish I could come visit and have that salad with gaberlunzie. I'll bring the wine!

Posted by: gaberlunzie 01-Oct-2007, 01:49 PM
Sounds like a hard day, stormeil - wished you really could come over for dinner; you're welcome any time! smile.gif

OK, here's the directions for lemon fluff cake:

1. Fly from Denver to Chicago-Midway Airport.
2. Tell nearest cabbie you want to go to Evergreen Park.
3. Tell cabbie to stop at Wolf's Bakery on 95th Street and Kedzie Avenue and keep the meter running.
4. Go in and purchase lemon fluff cake.
5. Leave bakery.
6. Tell cabbie to take you back to Midway.
7. Fly from Midway back to Denver biggrin.gif .

I love fresh seafood. I spent two weeks in Norfolk Va on business off season and tried everything on the Menu's at various restaurants.

I just had my last Buffalo roast a month ago. I got my crock pot out and enjoyed the roast for 5 or 6 meals. My local source is rather pricy for game meat now. I still have some Elk "chops" left yet.

It is still cheaper than hunting it. My last elk some years ago (New Mexico) cost me about $85.00 a pound. My last BC bears were much higher as I gave most of the meat to the outfitter and guides. Bear makes excellent stroganoff though!

Tonight will be a small TV dinner.

That straun bread sounds good Englishmix. I wasn't sure if I had it before so I googled it. It sounds yummy.

Patch the stroganoff sounds good. I agree if you have to use a guide and outfitters it is very costly.

My meat was free from friends. Tougher than a boot no matter what I do with it.. but good. lol. Elk is my favorite then moose. Antelope the least. Butchering is a lot of work but if you have some friends to help it goes pretty fast.

My 14 year old son promised to make his own version of the BLT for me tonight.
He toasts some nice crusty bread, spreads the toasted bread with goat cheese and adds salad greens, tomatoes and bacon.
