We are going to be married in the near future with woman i love. inlove.gif
And we have been planning to have a celtic themed wedding ceremony.

Does someone have any good tips? everything is welcome.
Have you been in a celtic weddings? if yes, tell me everything biggrin.gif
I think we will have the ceremony in some castle in Finland.

If someone knows lyrics for some traditional celtic wedding songs for example?

(My last post was lost during the downtime today.)

Thanks!

Congradulations on your up coming marriage.
My son was married 2 years ago with a full Scottish wedding. I must warn you that as soon as people hear the bagpipes they will come, invited or not.
The event was outside in a private fenced pool, grass, waterfall type area. I was thankful the gates were locked, because we had 120-150 people peeking thru the bars of the fence. That number came from security, who had to be called. No one out side the fence made any trouble , we were just afraid someone might be hurt pressing against the bars.

Now with that said, here are the two books that helped bring about a most beautiful wedding with all the Celtic flair.

THE SCOTTISH WEDDING BOOK by G W Lockhart

SCOTTISH TARTAN WEDDING by Marianne Rogerson

Both are available on Amazon or any book store could order.
It is a lot of work, but well worth it. As the day will always be one of splendor to
be remembered forever.
Hope this helps........... love.gif

SCOTTISH TARTAN WEDDING by Marianne Rogerson

Thanks Donajhi,

We're planning on going back in Scotland in 2010 to renew our wedding vows
it'll be 25 years of marriage for us and that's where we'd like to do it.
On my husband's ancestors land.

Since we don't know very much about how to go about it, maybe these books
could help us plan it. We're already looking it up on the internet.

Thank you, Donajhi!

I will definitely go and buy those books somewhere. smile.gif Otherwise i'll order them from amazon.

Hmm, that was a good point about the bagpipes, i will keep that in mind. I mean that i will remember to be sure about the security things too.

Again, thanks for the help!

You are very welcome.
Perhaps, you might want to include the Handfasting Affirmations.
Very deep and moving ceremony.

Ireland of the Welcomes had an article on just such a thing a few months back. This page will give you a brief idea of what the article was about. You can order the issue.

You can't possibly be properly married or buried without a piper.
