Hello connor1985! Welcome!
You may not have seen this post I made a few posts up, so I am going to copy and paste the pertinent stuff for you to give you the latest news, ok? This info was handed over from a friend who saw Diana in Fergus last month. What she wrote is in quotes. To add to all this, I believe Diana is considering doing a series on "Master Raymond." Wouldn't that be interesting?
Hope you enjoy!
“Diana mentioned that she has written the beginning and the end of Book 7. And guess what? There will be a book 8! Yay!!!!!!!!
Many of us were lucky enough to get an advanced copy of Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade in which Jamie plays quite a large role.
Someone asked if we'll hear more from Frank and Diana said yes and that he may even get his own book somewhere down the line.
The most popular question seems to be about getting a movie made. I've heard this over the years and Diana's response but this time around she said that they were in "serious" discussions with a very well known production company that has made some very well received movies. She couldn't mention who they were because they're still ironing out the details but she will, of course, let us know on her website if anything comes to fruition. She said that this looks quite promising!! Someone asked if the production company was from the UK and she said no.
Something else I found very interesting was her answer to what her most favourite and least favourite book was in the series. She said that her favourite book is always the one she's just written and so at this point Brotherhood of the Blade is her favourite. Her least favourite, although not that she doesn't like the book but it's the one that she's least satisfied with, is The Fiery Cross. The reason being that she did not have the opportunity to edit the book as she usually does. There seemed to be a "civil war" raging between two editors (or publishing company - I can't quite remember) and they wanted the book out very fast. Diana said that if she had the time to edit the book properly it would have been about 40,000 words shorter.
Diana is also working on a Graphic Novel (which is basically a comic book for adults) and it is from Murtagh's pov.
And another worthy mention is the prequel. This will consist of a trilogy of novellas. The first will be about Colum and Dougal, the second will focus on Brian and Ellen's relationship and the third will be about Murtagh.”
I can't wait until these come out. I am re-reading the Outlander series at this time. I seen this info on her website and I am so excited there could possibly be a movie! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the infor CR
"Spoiler" for those who haven't read all the books.
RE: Mastor Raymond
Did you all see this on DG's website regarding this character? There has been a rumor he may even get his own book as well! Below is what is written on Galbaldon's website.
From Herself "Who/what is Master Raymond? What is his significance? (SPOILER)
Who he is, is a prehistoric time traveler. I think he came from somewhere about 400 BC or perhaps a bit earlier (not technically "prehistoric," but they certainly weren't using written records where he started out), and the 18th century is not his first stop.
He is--or was--a shaman, born with the ability to heal through empathy. He sees auras plainly; those with his power all have the blue light he has--born warriors, on the other hand, are red (so yes, "the red man" is iconic {grin}). He has a rather strong aversion to Vikings, owing to events that happened in his own time; hence his nervousness when he sees Jamie. He's afraid of them, but he also realizes just what a strong life-force they have--that's why he makes Claire invoke it (using the sexual and emotional link between her and Jamie) to heal her.
His descendants--a few of whom he meets now and then in his travels- have the blue light about them, too; in large degree or small, depending on their talents. So he knows Claire, when he sees her, as one of his great-great, etc. grand-daughters. And Gillian/Geillis is another--you notice she has Claire's sense of plants, though she tends naturally to poison, rather than medicines. {grin}
We'll see him again--though not in Jamie and Claire's story, I don't think. Master Raymond should get his own series of books, beginning at the beginning (Stonehenge) and going on through his travels. So in fact, we'll see Claire, Jamie, and Geillis again, then-- but as secondary characters in Master Raymond's story (you recall, Geillis mentions having met "one other" (time-traveler) in Voyager, but doesn't tell Claire who it is."
I have never read any of Diana Galbadon's books, but since I have been on CR I have been interested in finding out more about these books. Well, I happened to be at a local Goodwill store the other day and picked a copy of "Outlander" for a dollar - in hardback! So, I will give it a read.

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."" Psalm 91:1-2
"Be what you would seem to be--or, if you'd like it put more simply--Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise." from "Alice in Wonderland"
I keep hearing that the latest Lord John book is much better than the first, but I have yet to read it. Will read it eventually though! It is in my TBR list!
Wizard! Is that you in the photo with Diana? Can't tell. Teriffic photo!
Well what we do here in AZ (since she lives here) we dress in very casual wear but we bring our finest books of hers we love and have her sign them. There's no formalities here. AZ is verra casual!
Diana is such a laid back lady. No upper airs about her at all.
Not only her wonderful writing, but her kind and giving heart is what makes her terrific amongst us fans!
As Diana says, "There is just something about being in a room with a man in a kilt. You always feel that you may find yourself up against the wall any moment."
I just couldn't resist.
A room with 350 women who all have fantasies about men in kilts and 1 guy in a kilt. HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!
Well great photo and I am impressed as I am sure you were that you were in a photo with Galbadon............but then the woman is my ultimate hero. What can I say! I am sure your wife loved seeing you in the kilt.......next to Diana as well!
