I've been using it for quite a while now and never had any problems with it. Under Windows or Linux, or Sun Solaris.... Only real issue I've had has been getting it and Thunderbird talking nicely since I migrated from Mozilla 1.5a. Right now, I can only use a link in E-mail if I don't already have Firefox open, and I can only use a mailto link if I don't already have Thunderbird open. As for stability though, they're both pretty rock solid for me... Might try version 1.0 which is due out tomorrow, see if it works any better for you.
I just use the regular Mozilla. I tried Firefox and I couldn't see much difference.
Shamalama, I see that you said you installed it over the protests of your company's IT guys. My brother-in-law works in IT and he says some of his coworkers think that Microsoft can do no wrong. He says that he's glad that, after working with Microsoft all day, he comes home to his wife, his kids, and his iMac.

I've been using Mozilla for a while, and get far less spyware and popups. It does seem to require more technical skill than IE, but is worth the effort.

Firefox is essentially a browser-only Mozilla. Not having all the extras make for faster startup.
I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but this dummy needs some help. I just downloaded Firefox 1.0. I cannot listen to the music here. If I go back to Internet Explorer I can hear it. HELP!!!!!

Do you have any MP3 software, like iTunes?
If you do, you can download the link and play the stream with that.
I downloaded Firefox this week, when I started having a lot of trouble with iE and some of my other programs. Those problems seem to have gone away now...maybe one of the things I tried and was reccommended to try worked after all!
I really have no idea. I do like the Firefox, it was very easy to import all of our settings and favorites from IE and the window is easy to read, One popup is all I get a message for, lol, but I never see it, only the bar at the top of the page that tells me it popped up!
I should have done it sooner!!!!!!
