I was just wondering if any of the churches represented here are doing a St. Andrews Day service.

Being within the Baptist tradition, we don't see services of this nature. This is the first year we are doing it. I have a local piper coming in for it so it should be grand. Any suggestions on a service order you have experienced are welcomed.

Let me know how it goes! I've never tried it, myself. I would be interested to see what kind of feedback you get.

Same here, attend a baptist church. Never attended a St. Andrews service.

Well, the service went great! We had about 400 in attendance between the two a.m. services. We looked heavily at the lives and deaths of the disciples and the call of Christ to the original 12 all based around our call as disciples of Christ. The passage was Luke 9:57-62.

We started with a flag processional of the Saltire, Lion Rampant, Christian and American flags brought into the sanctuary by our youth.

I selected a couple of traditional hymns including Faith of Our Fathers and Abide With Me.

The piper played five tunes. Four before the sermon was Skye Boat Song, Going Home, Highland Cathedral and finally Amazing Grace. At the benediction, he did Scotland the Brave as people
were leaving.
