My Father

He is a simple man
With only a 5th grade...
My father who build us kids
A roof over our heads
With his own hands

Not a man of emotions
For he did not know how
To show or express them
An old man now changing
Before my very eyes...

My father who did not
Give me life but
Chose me for daughter
And took care of me
As best he could

My father that use to
Walk with a straight back
Now bent and walk slow
And hardly talk
But even in sickness

Everytime he sees me
His face change into
This most beautiful smile
That's the way I want to
Remember my Father....

LOA i see that you feel the same as do for My Dad. He has been gone for 5 years now, and not a day goes by that I don't think of him and wish he was still here.

Sorry about the loss of your father Harlot...

My dad is sick and old but he is still hanging there and for an old alcoholic man who was not in shape physically he kind of surprise me.

He is a change man for sure.

Yes my dad is very special to me and even though I am not showing it.
Inside I hurt to see him like this. For a pride man it is hard and frustrating to live with your ability reduce like this but as I said he surprises me with the will he still has to regain more and more each day.
