'S toil leam Capercaillie, Karen Matheson's voice is so beautiful! I use to listen to Capercaillie's music whenever I'm tired, and need something to make me happy. I try to understand what they sing, and sometimes I find me self singing some of their songs during a class when I'm not that concentrated wink.gif

I listen to Capercaillie all of the time! I love their music very much! I try to sing along too, even when I don't the words!

Yes, I REALLY LOVE THEM! I use to play Capercaillie in the school, and even if I'm th only one that have the slightest idea about what they're singing I have converted many of my friends into true Capercaillie fans!

Capercaillie is one of my favorite bands too! I have about 7 of their CDs now. I don't have Secret People yet, but plan to get it. I saw that they have a concert DVD out. It is kind of old, but I am thinking about getting it.

I love them too, CR, but you already knew that! smile.gif I think they are my favorite Celtic artists just now. I just can't listen to Glenfinnan enough! I play it over and over again! And Delirium and Choice Lnaguage are wonderful too! I downloaded a bunch of lyrics to their Gaelic songs, cause I want to be able to sing along!

Oh you did? You were able to do that? I will have to find that where I can download the lyrics too! Choice Language is my favorite of theirs. Love Nadurra too! smile.gif But I really love their Best of CDs the best!

Thanks Allen for the great site! You mentioned a CD by Capercaillie called Glenfinnan? I don't have that one and I looked for it on Amazon and I saw no such album. I am confused! unsure.gif

Yeah, Mingkee! I have the Rob Roy CD too. I just love that soundtrack and Karen's solo song in there. smile.gif

Hey dear! Glenfinnan is part of the name of an album. The full name is Glenfinnan: Songs of the 45! Still confused? smile.gif

By the way Rose, the site where the Capercaillie lyrics came from also has lots of other lyrics for Celtic artists, including Mary Jane Lamond! Here is the main page:

Oh duh! Allen! I had no idea that the Songs of the 45 included the title of Glenfinnan! ohmy.gif I LOVE LOVE that CD. In fact, that really is my very favorite CD and I play that one all the time. I love the first song on it! You don't have the Rob Roy CD? I thought you did.

Thanks for the lyrics pages! They are really cool!

Glad you like it! I do too! (The web site AND the album! wink.gif )

Nope, don't have Rob Roy! I've got the Soundtrack to Braveheart, but not Rob Roy!

Ou, yes, I'd like them very much!
And my favourite song is "Coisich a Ruin", so sad, that this song is performanced seldom... unsure.gif

And - AHEM - they're becoming one of my favorite bands too Rose thanks to you! I was listening to them the other day while cleaning the kitchen and actually began to dance a bit as I loaded the dishwasher. Any band that can brighten a cleaning day must be good.

Yo ho ho girlfriend and welcome back to the world of Celtic Radio! We've missed you bunches!

You made a copy of a cd for me awhile back, I'd swear its a Best Of disc - let me go see... ah, here it is. "Dusk til Dawn - the Best of Capercaillie". I've been listening to it a lot the last couple of weeks, and when Reid got home the other afternoon it was playing and even HE liked it!

Hee hee, I just mailed your birthday gifts to you this morning! You should get them next Thursday, they said. So too bad, you gotta have a birthday. tongue.gif

I have been listening to a lot of Capercaillie lately. I just love them! smile.gif

The girl singing has a lovely voice, and I LOVE the instrumentation too... for lack of anything else to compare it to, some of the instruments remind me of the Corrs songs.

Karen Matheson has one of the best voices out there, if not THE best. have you seen the Rob Roy movie? She sings a solo in there and there are several Capercaillie songs in that film. I have the soundtrack! smile.gif

Posted by: Siobhan Blues 27-Jun-2005, 10:12 AM
No, was that her singing?? Impressive! I'll have to get that soundtrack some time.

I think someone mentioned Braveheart soundtracks awhile back, I do have one that has a speech on it that was in the movie. Its very stirring to hear the speech, even without the visuals.

Another soundtrack I got recently is the one for 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil'... a very eccentric movie, but one of my favorites!
