That's right, people. This is the last week of winter. It's all over saturday.
Why just party on Wednesday, this whole week is worthy of celebration.

I'm not breakin' out my dancin' shoes just yet OR. I've seen snow and sub-freezing temps in April here in Michigan. Our highs this week won't hit 40 F.

Normal is a relative term. For some reason it is not a term my relatives use to describe me.

I know what you mean. I spent 2 years in Detroit one winter.
I was actually only 2 months. It just SEEMED like 2 years.

Well, the moon doesn't lie. It may get cold again, (hey, it was just snowing about 15min ago here), and it will probably snow in May, but by gum, spring's a comin'. And it's comin' Saturday.

OldRaven, God bless you for being such an optimist!! And living way up North there, too!
I know Spring is coming, but she seems to be taking her time here. We're due for another Winter storm, beginning tonight and lasting into Wednesday. Snow accumulations forcast (currently ) are calling for 6-10". We'll still be partying -- Wednesday's our youngest's birthday, and she always says she's the "Princess of Spring and Warm Weather ". She's telling us not to worry, she'll have the warm temps here by the weekend. (Do you know, she's been uncanny every year--sudden Warmth has arrived on her birthday since her very first Day here on Earth. I don't doubt her word anymore!)
Keep on Dancing, and watch for the Robins' return any day now!! Plant those Sweet Peas Wednesday, if you live South of MA. The ground's not quite loose enough yet here. Soon, soon....
Dreamer1 P.S. I think we need a Dancing Snoopy icon, and some flower icons, too. What say ye?

Even though they are calling for several inches of snow here tonight and tomorrow, I already know that Spring is here. I have seen Redwing Black Birds, saw a Turkey Vulture today and have heard the Spring Peepers crooking down by the creek.

Turkey vultures are here 365....or 366 this year! Redwing blackbirds, check! Peepers, check! Daffies, bless their little yellow hearts, check! Forsythia, check! Lots of mud, check! Yep, it's almost time!

If age is a learning experience, I should be a genius by now...
If you've still got the bulbs, stick them in the ground anyway when you can work the dirt. They might live in spite of you! They are tough. Probably no blooms this year, but should be OK by next.
Four inches of snow on the ground overnight and more on the way today. Spring is coming????? Winter is having his last hurrah. But no man ever kept a woman down for long. Spring, she will come!
I saw our first crocus Sunday. This tiny little purple and gold bloom was here for who knows how long before we bought this house and it still comes up faithfully every year. Even though it gets trampled by the kids and the dogs. Think there is a metaphor there.
