I'm wondering if other members can help me find artists similar to the Wicked Tinkers. I like their very traditional sound but it is upbeat and very well recorded. Some traditional music, like regimental pipers, etc. are nice but the recording quality isn't the best. I guess I just need another artist to consider when the Wicked Tinkers have already been requested recently.
I'm wondering if other members can help me find artists similar to the Wicked Tinkers.
I hope there are! But I'm afraid they may be a one-off. Hope someone can come up with more like them.

My closest matches would have to be: Silly Wizard Capercallie Battlefield Band - (the early stuff is more Wicked Tinkers-esque than the CD's they are putting out now)
Great Question

It's amazing what you can do with a little motivation and a lot of whiskey. -Name that Musician
BTW...if you are just looking for some driving traditional music that will get your toe tapping...I can't help but recommend the Bothy Band. I'd suggest either their "Best of Album" or one called "Out of the Wind and into the Sun"
I appreciate everyones input. I am basically looking for something to get in the mood to play my hockey games. Every once in a while I like to hear some pipes to get in the mindset, so it is hard to find something to listen to that isn't a jig or a reel. I almost wish there was an album out of tunes the Royal pipers would play to go into battle. I know, I am a little wierd but most goalies are.
I grew up with Regimental music. My Dad served in a Highland regiment. If you do a search for Regimental Pipe Music, I'm sure that you'd find plenty of stirring marches?
The school of Piping for the United Kingdom is based near my childhood home in Edinburgh. It used to be torture when I was a teenager, lying in bed on a non-school day after a late night... you couldn't escape the practice sessions.... Fine the first 20 times....! And when they were getting ready for the Tattoo - the volume seemed to escalate.
Ok...if it's adrenaline that you're going after.... Gordon Duncan - He has two albums (I think) and man are they electrifying.
Also...if pipe bands are what ye desire... then I'd say start checking out the World Pipe Band Championship discs. They are available on the Lismor label and usually have a ton of hot piping on them.
Thank you everyone. I probably will pick up a World Piping Championship CD or two. Especially if they are recorded more recently, I woud think the sound quality would be there.
The Scottish Rogues or the Rogues (are they the same or two different bands?) are also a CD or two I may pick up. My wife thinks I am crazy, but I love it all.
