I noticed that the number of postings are not counting correctly. It seems to stay at one number for several postings. Am I missing something (more than likely)?

I am noticing that my number of posts seems to be increasing faster than the actual number of posts I am making. I was watching kind of lazily to see when it would go over 3000, and then one day it was suddenly up over 3,030. Today it's 3054 or so. I could swear I am not making posts at that rate.
