I spent 10 days in Ireland the 1st week or so of August this year. I enjoyed the pubs (went to at least 3 a day), the beautiful country side, and the people. My funniest experience in a pub: I was late getting to the pub and my wife and kids (in their late 20's) were already there. I walked in and a gentleman was sitting next to my wife. I asked him could he please scoot down the bench so I could sit and he said "I was about to get her number!" LOL, well it threw me a bit. (A bit slow I am) but caught on and we had a big laugh. Had great conversation with him. The pubs are more homey in Ireland in my experiences. It is a great place. |
