Well, I just thought it could be interesting.

Mine is as follows

Jime307
Pronounced: Jim E 3-o-7
Origin: Jimmie Espenoza is my name so I think JimE (could be prounounced like Jimmie) fit well. Jim for Jimmie E for Espenoza and 3-o-7 for the WYoming phone code.

Hi Jime307,

This is a fun idea.
Mine is associated with the cover of the novel titled "The Mist of Avalon" from the great author Marion Zimmer-Bradley.
She wrote a few novels (series) about the mysteries of Avalon.
And of course the Lady of Avalon.

Good thread!!!1 wink.gif LOA

Dogshirt is a VERY old Blackfoot name, perhaps as far back as pre-horse days(1750 ish). It was the name of my Grandmother's Uncle. Names were kept in the family and re-bestowed (so to speak) after the old owner had departed.

I too pulled my name from a Marion Zimmer Bradley book... Senara is the name of one of the young sisters of the lead character in The Forest House.

Senara is just a name in passing and not much is mentioned about her in the book, but I liked the name and thought I'd use it.

When I used to fly Apache's I was given the call sign "Mr. Wizard" for the way I have of teaching anything so that a 5 yr old can understand. Just like the real Mr. Wizard, Don Herbert used to do on TV.

Since I moved up to Canada I had to change the name a little because there are thousands of permutations of Mr. Wizard already in use.

So The Wizard of BC I became. I use the same name everywhere on the web so people can find me.

I love the Arthurian stories and of course I love the name my parents gave me - Jennifer Diana. So, I found out that the name Jennifer is equivalent to Guinivere. I did a little research and found the Welsh spelling of my name and have used it ever since. Thus - Gwynhwyvar.
I also have another nickname that my great-grandmother gave me as a baby - that is - White Owl. I use that name a lot too.

"Stoirmeil" (pronounced STUH-ruh-m'l, with a rolled r) is merely the scots gaidhlig for "Stormy." I actually wanted the gaidhlig for "seagull", some twisty thing beginning with an "f", but I couldn't remember it from my lessons, the week I joined CR -- but I did remember "stormy." Well, let's see. When I first started being part of this forum many years ago, I was originally "Desertrose" for several reasons. My name is Rosemary, I am often nicknamed Rose by friends, I live in the desert and my artwork and photography are marketed through "desertrose images." But being part of a Celtic site, I though for some odd reason that I should be called Celtic Rose. For a long while I have regretted this decision and may indeed change my username here back to desertrose...if the administrator will allow. So don't be suprised if my username changes.

I can always be called by Rose from you all either way smile.gif It is part of my real name!

When the weather gets really bad and people with sense are heading to the basement, I go outside and watch the storm.

Red tailed hawks are common around here and have always been a joy to watch. Wish I could fly like that!

Add a very strong connection to my Blackfoot ancestors to get Stormhawk.

I was born in 1955.

This is a fun topic. Quite interesting.

I enjoy comic books very much and a few years back when I was in college I had a project that involved creating a website. I combined the two decided to make a site for an imaginary comic book publisher, Stick Figure(SF) Comics. SF's flagship book, Skeleman, followed the adventures of a superhero with the same name. After that Skeleman sounded like a good username. I think I still have the Skeleman #1 cover saved on my computer if anyone is interested in seeing it.

Ah, story time...gotta love it.

A good friend of mine was in Germany doing an internship and while sightseeing in Heidelberg she ran across a statue of a dwarf named Perkeo. Perkeo was put in charge of a cask of wine about 24 foot around. He was known to drink several bottles of wine a day from the cask until one day drinking a glass of water and almost killing himself. My friend read this and immediately thought of me. Not that I drink a lot (although I can drink more then most of my friends). It's the part about drinking water. No matter how drunk I get, I always tell my friends to NEVER give me water, just send me to bed. I've never had a hangover and I believe it is because I don't drink water before going to bed.

So, that is how I became Perkeo.

Cheers! beer_mug.gif

Wow, I wish I had a great story behind my name like alot of you have. Mine is simply a play on words. 007 is the first three digits in my social security number, and dust from Sevindust, the garden insecticide, or more commonly for me, the band Sevendust, whom I'm sure took the title from the same thing. 007dust works for almost any website and It's rarely rejected because it's unique.
The only story I can come up with of any relevance is more in my name. You see people in forums and groups frequently that use the name Gandalf, (I've already seen one here). Since the movies I'm sure most of you know who this character is, the old wizard from J.R.R. Tolkien's books. My father read these books to my mother while she was pregnant back in '68 and a name was born. George Christopher Gandalf Conner. Back when I was in school everyone thought it was a stupid name and I was quite confused at a young age as to what my middle initial was. Now I'm 40 and everyone thinks it's cool. "Hey, your named after that guy in those movies!"..."Well not exactly, I'm named...never mind, yeah, I'm named after that guy in the movies" *sigh*

Michty is a word used by a cartoon character called Oor Wullie from Scottish books that my Dad had, it is similar to wow or what the.... He has a gang with friends Fat Bob, Soapy Soutar and Wee Eck. Wullie (William to his Ma) also uses words like braw, scunner, and my favourites jings and crivvens.

I still get the books sent to me, they are published every two years, alternating with a similar book about a family called The Broons (Browns)

No big mystery where mine came from...it's my name turned around...leenie is actually Eileen. I met a man in Arizona not long after moving there in the 80's, when he heard my name he said" I won't call you that, I used to date an Eileen and she was a B---- so I'm gonna call you Leenie." I agree! What a FUN topic! my name, as has been said before, has never NOT been available on websites, so it's good. I had tried jestus for a while, but it was taken more often than not, so I just expanded it.

Jest Us was the name of my highly unsuccessful college band. I was real proud of the name until i realized people thought it was Justice, at which point I realized it had a pretty funny thing going on after all.

As I've aged, I find I now associate as much with the humor in my virtual nickname as I do the wish to have SuperMod powers of making people play nice or get booted. I also work in the domestic violence field, so the double meaning has flowed quite nicely with my life's path.

After getting married I changed all of my frequently used accounts to this username or created the new ones with it..I tried being creative at one point, coming up with different usernames and could never remember them all! With everything requiring one anymore....So I go by the KISS (keep it simple stupid) rule smile.gif

Mine is my first name. I think my parents hated me. Most people
can not pronounce it, so I had it legally changed to Donna while I was in
grad school. Anyway I'm told it means, flowers in the wind..go figure.. tongue.gif tongue.gif

My username comes simply from my love of all things fairy. I just decided to spell it the old English way.

Ok, mine is lifted from my dog,a solid black border collie, with just a dusting of white under her chin. Not that I'm a dog nut,but it just seemed kind of fitting. She was kind of the outcast from her litter, so was I.

since i'm usually a prankster or a jokester, shenaniganz just kinda seemed to fit and 24 and 7 have been numbers I have used in all sports in my life. plus it means i pretty much joke around every hour of the day haha

My name is Nils, nilsemann is a common nickname for someone named Nils.
I wish I had a cooler one, but my manager came up with it, used it on contracts and posters, and before I knew it, I was stuck with it rolleyes.gif

a nilsemann is usually a harmless nice guy, so it suits me fine thumbs_up.gif

This is an interesting post. I have always wondered particularly about "Dogshirt".

My father and family immigrated to USA from England after the 2nd World War as they did not want to participate in any more "wars to end all wars" in the UK anymore. My mother is from Alabama with roots in Germany. Thus, "englishmix". I think "Halfbreed" was already taken...

Mc from McEwan, n short for and, berry is my nickname. Pretty simple and not very imaginative.

I did Irish step dancing as an adult for 5 years. I had to give it up 3 years ago, because my busy life got in the way. I'm thinking of picking it up again, but I haven't decided yet. Classes are so dang expensive, and the money just isn't there right now... rolleyes.gif
