We have made some changes to our premium player due to incompatibility issues with flash across multiple operating systems. Mainly windows 8.1 has alot of issues with its buggy internet explorer 11 and built-in flash plugin.
The new premium player works with our site and provides the following compatible direct links to Highlander Radio:
Winamp
Windows
RealAudio
iTunes
QuickTime
A special link is provided that over-rides firewall rules at your work that might prevent you from listening.
Mobile Listening links are also provided for:
Android
Blackberry
iTunes
Symbian
Once you bring up our premium player it will be necessary for you to click the icon for your compatible system player (itunes, windows, etc.).
Hopefully this will provide better and more stable quality listening enjoyment to Highlander Radio.

I do not like this new arrangement! I now have to have a player open as well as the window showing what is playing. I like the old embedded player better, one small windo with everything in it. I am using IE8 and Windows XP and had no trouble before!

Your right, ratings do not seem to be going through. We will look into this and fix the problem.
We have gone with a two step process because the flash player we were using is not fully compatible with all computer systems and versions. This gives the option of using your favorite installed player to listen while still keeping popup box open with the current playing song.
The other big issue too is that this new setup is in accordance with internet radio regulations which the player needs to launch from our licensing provider. It does look like our player, but it is launching from a remote site. Its one of those things we will just have to endure for now until we can locate a universal flash player that we can use with our service.
Will let you know when that rating feature is fixed. Our apologies.
Ok, we have done some research and reconfiguration which has allowed us to bring back the flash player and also the links directly to the broadcast.
In addition, ratings are now working properly except that they will be recorded on our site as a guest users (on our social network feed).
Because these player pages our hosted on our license provider it has to work this way. If you rate a song on our main page it will be recorded under your member account, only the player window will work as guest mode.
Hopefully this works for everyone!
