Our apologies for the delay in announcing the October CD winners, but as indicated we had some pretty extensive renovations to our studio this past week.
Ok, here is a little "State of our CD Contest" promotions on CelticRadio.net. Our current inventory of CDs to giveaway is 44!! With more CDs on the way from Celtic musicans across the Globe, we are going to have to find more ways to give these babies away. As many of you know, our Celtic Radio Founder's club completely finances the packaging and mailing of these contest CDs, so a big thank you to the musicians and Celtic Radio Founder club members for making this happen.
In celebration of the forthcoming holiday season and the success of this program, November is SUPER CD GIVEWAY MONTH! We are putting up for grabs 8 CDs that 8 lucky members will receive before Christmas this year! (More Details to Follow).
We had 3 CDs to give away for the month of October.
Our October CD contest features Emerald Rose's ?Bending Tradition? CD.
From their website:
"North Georgia's EMERALD ROSE has been playing and singing for over 7 years now, weaving their musical spell on audiences as diverse as Irish pubs and festivals, sci-fi conventions, and Hollywood cast parties! Blending vocal harmonies, Celtic and world music instrumentation, unique and diverse songwriting, rocking renditions of Irish and Scottish classics, and an energetic performance style, Emerald Rose entertains.?
?This talented band of musicians and singers has a varied, intriguing repertoire of 18th and 19th Century material from period commemorative, tavern/drinking, romantic ballads, sea shanties, children's ditties, songs of revolt.?
"Two Time Polka formed in Cork in 1994 and have developed a distinctive sound that harvests old-time American, Cajun, Zydeco, Bluegrass and Country. They have built up an unenviable reputation for turning out excellent live shows, including numerous performances at Irish festivals such as The Kilkenny Country Roots, The Dun Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures, The Cork Jazz Festival, The Galway Arts Festival, The Waterford Spraoi, The Cork Folk Festival to na me but a few. The band has also done several European tours and have played at the legendary Glastonbury Festival and more recently Italy's Premier International Folk Festival 'Folkest'."
Please contact us by email with your snail address to received your CD. Please note that you have 30 days to claim your prize, otherwise it gets raffled off!
To be eligible for the monthly CelticRadio.net contests you must post at least one message in the CelticRadio.net community forums located at:

"We all get heavier as we get older because there's a lot more information in our heads." So I'm not fat, I'm just really intelligent and my head couldn't hold anymore so it started filling up the rest of me! "Mama Tater"
I never win anything, so this is a real treat! I'm not familiar with Two Time Polka, but I love Cajun and Zydego music, so I'm sure I'm going to love this CD. I'll let you know when I get it!

The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859
Education: that which reveals to the wise, and conceals from the stupid, the vast limits of their knowledge. ~Mark Twain
Congrats October winners!! Isn't if fun to win??? I know I really like my cd that I won in September and I'm sure you all will like yours too!! Yeah!!!
