I would build a large house out in the country and take in as many foster children as I could. There are so many children out there who don't have loving parents or homes and I want to help them all.

The other day we were watching my husband's niece (2 1/2 yrs), when he burped. My niece turned to him and said "You tooted out of your mouth!" Ever since then all burps have been "mouth toots" lol

Ok....If you could have your dream job, what would it be?

My dream job right now would be a stay-at-home mom! It's been my dream for forever to be a mom and also to take in kids who don't have parents, or are not being taken care of by the parents they do have. Every child deserves to be loved, cherished, and looked after smile.gif

I've never really thought about Scottish/Irish festivals around here because there are mostly Germans but I just looked it up and there are some so I hope to go to some as soon as I can!

I've never heard of her before, but Moira Kerr sounds good! I couldn't find the Rose of Allendale by Neil Byron/Ryan Kelly...maybe you have a link? I listened to the song by different artists and the song itself is nice smile.gif

QUOTE (TheCarolinaScotsman @ 29-Jul-2009, 01:40 AM)
I think I got a nickel per tooth. In a related matter, I got 25 cents every Sunday morning for allowance and was expected to put all of it in the collection plate at church.

I like the idea of giving them some money every Sunday to give to the offering. It gets them in to the habit of tithing while they are young. But you also have to teach them the importance of giving out of love once they are old enough to understand why they are doing it smile.gif.

My parents never did the whole tooth fairy, Santa Clause, Easter Bunny thing with us so I'm not really sure lol. They did give us some change when we lost a tooth, but we always knew it was from them. If you don't want to do money, you could use small toys or something.

I love blonde jokes lol. I know that blondes aren't all dumb, but I like bugging my sister with them because she is blonde and I'm a brunette tongue.gif

A redhead tells her blonde stepsister, "I slept with a Brazilian...." The blonde replies, "Oh my gosh! You slut! How many is a brazilian?"

I like this poem because it's about a Melissa lol

ODE, ON MELISSA'S BIRTH-DAY
by Thomas Blacklock, a Scottish poet from the late 18th century.

"Ye nymphs and swains, whom love inspires
With all his pure and faithful fires,
Hither with joyful steps repair;
You who his tenderest transports share
For lo ! in beauty's gayest pride,
Summer expands her bosom wide ;
The Sun no more in clouds inshriu'd,
Darts all his glories unconfin'd;
The feather'd choir from every spray
Salute Melissa's natal day.

Hither ye nymphs and shepherds haste,
Each with a flow'ry chaplet grae'd,
With transport while the shades resound,
And Nature spreads her charms around;
While ev'ry breeze exhales perfumes,
And Bion his mute pipe resumes;
With Bion long disus'd to play,
Salute Melissa's natal day.

For Bion long deplor'd his pain
Thro' woods and devious wilds in vain;
At last impell'd by deep despair,
The swain preferr'd his ardent pray'r;
His ardent pray'r Melissa heard,
And ever)* latent sorrow cheer'd,
His days with social rapture ble~t,
And scoth'd each anxious care to rest.
Tune, shepherds, tune the festive lay,
And hail Melissa's natal day.

With Nature's incense to the skies
Let all your fervid wishes rise,
That Heav'n and Farth may join to shed
Their choicest blessings on her head;
That years protracted, as they flow,
May pleasures more sublime bestow ;
While by succeeding years surpast,
The happiest still may be the last;
And thus each circling Sun display,
A mere auspicious natal day."

Accept him and love him like a natural grandchild! My husband and I have had to consider adoption due to certain circumstances and I would hope that our family would treat them the same as our nieces and nephews.

Some of my favorites are Great Big Sea, Gaelic Storm, the High Kings and Enter The Haggis.

Celtic Thunder, The Celtic Tenors and Celtic Woman are also great if you want a mixture of Celtic and more modern music- everything from pop to rock to classical.

I love those bands!
