What Madness this To enclose ones' soul To build defences strong Pitfall traps that None may cross For those who dare The cold stone wall. What Tower do These engines guard What Treasure held within? None, they are but Shields to keep At bay the Hurt and pain That dawns each day. To hold afar those Who would reach out To offer Love then Recoil, in puzzled doubt. Want no Love For with it Pain 'Tis better then In a Fortress reign? To let the World Rush Frentic pass While to Aloneness There cling fast. |

Isolation, circle the wagons, positions poses, defend to the death. (Am I making any sense here? You know, I’m not sure anymore?) Thanks Dave |

Very well written, Camac. I believe we all put on our armour & defenses to avoid being hurt. Although, one shouldn't do this too often, as it does drive people away that truely could be a blessing in one's life.....then it's too late and they are gone. |

Reminds me of Paul Simon's "I Am A Rock." Just as bleak -- though well crafted and evocative. I hope it's not totally true to Camac and his ways -- surely isn't good for the heart? |

stoirmeil; No tis not me in the least. Although being alone does not bother me I do not make a habit of it. There are times when I revell in it because it allows me to think deeply and gives me a respite from the world. Camac. |

I hope so my friend that this melancholic poem does not reflect you. Though I do agree with it in part and all need to build an exterior either for the sake of privacy or for whatever reason but it is not good for one's soul to live around a wall. LOA |
