Why do I have 300 neckties that aren't mine in my trunk?
A reasonable question. In the back seat are 12 business suits of various sizes and several dress shirt, also not mine.
The reason is: I am the director of a non-profit, and one of the projects I'm doing helps young people in poverty learn basic skills for interviewing, landing and keeping a job. We talk about respecting the employer -- even if the job is for digging ditches, we want the kids to dress as nicely as possible for an interview. Show the potential employer that you care enough about the job to dress up.
Problem is, most of these folks, mostly late teens and early 20s, rarely have business ware. So I collect business clothing from people who donate it to the young people. I recently picked up a huge donation from a Rotary Club. It's still in tthe car.
