Here's a few Irish curses I looked up today on the web after reading an interesting article today in my local newspaper about Irish curses. After reading some of these I do believe I would rather have an Irish blessing than a curse!
Six horse loads of graveyard clay on top of you.
May the entrails and mansion of pleasure out of this worm fall out.
Rain and fire, ill wind and snow and hard frost follow her.
May the curse of curses in sorrow prostrate you now.
In hell may you be because of your sins.
To Halifax with him.
May your choking come on you.
May he fester in his grave.
May you be afflicted with the itch and have no nails to scratch with!
Go n-ithe an cat thu is go n-ithe an diabhal an cat (May the cat eat you and the devil eat the cat)

Can anyone tell me the origin and exact meaning of "a blind man's curse befall you." It's in reference to a landlord evicting a tenant. Thanks, Tim
From my understanding the Irish curses have their orgin in Irish-Gaelic and Celtic culture. These sayings along with Irish proverbs and blessings have survived through the centuries with different varriations. But as to the exact orgin of "A blind man's curse befall you" I have no clue.
Whew, the Irish have some nasty curses. Glad I pull for Notre Dame.
Why'd you have to go and say that?
Living in Chicago, you get force-fed Notre Dame (especially if you're Irish Catholic like me). I don't like being force-fed anything. I 'd up all that years ago.

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
