Our local event was this past weekend. The weather was beautiful, with a slight chill to the air.

Lots of great music, from Trad to atl. celtic, or celtic rock. ( no distortion...just kicked up)
The big name act this year was Old Blind Dogs. Good show, and a fun group of lads.
Ran into a fellow from Ireland that sells dehydrated peat. To use somewhat like wood is used in a BBQ grill. Since peat was the source of heat and cooking . Had some DELICIOUS samples. He was a great fellow. Gave me his address told me to look him up when we go ack over. It was good time! wink.gif

After the fest on Saturday, we gathered at the hotel, that everyone was staying at... Ate a wee bit, had a few pints and had a bit of a Jam. The were about 30 of us all together. It went to the wee hours of the morning... It was a good time as well.... Didn't get to see any of the highland games though... sad.gif I was working sound at the time...there is always next year...

Cheers

I had ta vote for the Whisky tasting, it adds a nice glow to all the other topics.
The music sounds better, the women look even better and with enough even a few of the men start looking good. I know then, that's the time to quit.

I've got to agree with Annabelle, I voted for concerts because Tattoo was not a choice.
Bourbon is spelled Whiskey like the Irish by the way.

Went to the Celtic Fest in Bethlehem, Pa. last week. Glengarry Bhoys were the main attraction. So, my choice had to be concerts. It would have been the Bethlehem Brewery, if Paul had included it on the list. The Irish Stout was rather smooth. CHEERS!!!!!

The Ligoner Highland games are by where I live ..
There are so many things to enjoy,,
but I have to go for the Kilted men !

There is a party at Pennsic, The Men With Out Pants Party,, Kilts only !!!!

This year at the games. I saw something , I am still giggleing over..
In the mist of over 100 pipe bands tuning, and endless single pipers,
contained in one lovley tree canopied area..
Imagine the sound ! I can still hear it !
There was a woman with a cell phone to her ear, finger stuffed in the other ..
"huh? what? huh? "
She won the Village Idoit Award of the Day in my eyes !

drool.gif beer_mug.gif I'm all about my Scotch.

Best I've tasted yet was a bottle of 30yr Glenfiddich pure single malt that Angela gave me this past Christmas. It cost FAR too much though, so I doubt I'll be trying it again any time soon. I usually drink the 12yr Glenfiddich, when I drink at all.

I prefer the heavy athletics (that I participate in) and, of course, the music. jJust wish there were more closer to home.

I love to go and watch all the people. Austin is a great town for people watching. All ways something going on in town. I love music and live music is even better. I do love a man in a kilt. Not all men should wear them though. It takes a certain kind of man. No twiggy men please! ha ha sorry guys! He must be tall thick chest, heavy muscular legs. A little hairy is ok but no winter coats. Oh lord, I am not making a good impression here. What must you think of me?! Anyway....mmmmm men kilts. Ok... difinate fave and the music and the vendors and the dancing and everything really.

I love the music at these things but I especially like working as a vendor. Good people, great fun. Besides, when your working as a kilt vendor, you can go pants free for days at a time!
