Yes, Runrig are an excellent band - very dramatic to see. And, if you can, see them in Scotland. They have in the past played a live gig at Loch Lomond, imagine that if you can. Also at Edinburgh Castle, with the ramparts as a backdrop.

Glad to hear you're coming across the pond Shortbit. Saw Donny Monroe (ex lead singer of Runrig) in The Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline. He was brilliant!! :D  :D

Malcolm... I will be staying in Lanark... easier for my friends in Newarthill but I most definitely will be in your area..Lord willing... I will have to stop in for a cup of tea!!!!Besides Stirling and Edinburgh. what do you recommend as a "must" see in your area..

I know this is off the topic but I didn't know where else to answer Malcolm's comment.

Hi all you other Runrig fans out there.

Just to say that I saw them in concert again last night in Glasgow - total sellout - and they were fantastic - they had pipers and drummers on stage with them plus Duncan Chisholm playing the fiddle.  I've been a fan for 17 years now -went to see them in Denmark in the summer - and they just get better and better.
Pity they couldn't do a gig for Tartan Day in NY!

Anyone want to chat about them?

F.

Hi

Had posted earlier but didn't have a chance to get the link but Runrig is one of my favorite Scottish groups. Here is their homepage where you can get info on this group. Am hoping they tour the US sometime soon. I know even my wife would love to go. :D

Hi just wanted to post this message I got back from the Runrig site on tour schedules and such as far as coming to the US.

Quote
Dear Dave,

We have no plans for the USA or Canada this year. We live in hope that this may change but so far the door hasn't opened.

Best wishes,
Mike Smith

:(   - that's a little dissappointing but at least they haven't ruled out a tour in the future. At one point i had heard something about the band having little interest in coming over.  Perhaps with an increaingly positive reaction to Bruce Guthro's solo music in Canada at least, there will be even more support for Runrig crossing the mighty atlantic.

You can always drop the band a note and suggest they plan a visit to North America sometime in the near future. The more requests they get maybe they'll plan a trip. Here's the address I used off their website.

Feeona,

Sounds like an awesome show! And all the way from Glasgow, Scotland! Would love to see them in concert sometime. From what I hear they put on a great show!

Do you know when they are touring the U.S.?
