Our youngest just had her birthday this past week, and had her party last night. We took 8 girls to see the movie "Because of Winn-Dixie" -- what a great movie!! I would definitely recommend this one to everyone, whether you have kids or not. The theater was packed, too, with all ages, and this is after the movie's been showing for over a month now. It's just a wholesome, warm-your-heart, make-you-laugh kind of movie, but it's not overly sweet either. It has some sadness mixed with lessons learned. Go see this one!!

P.S. We're buying this one as soon as it becomes available!

I was reading about "Moulin Rouge!" on IMDb.com and I found out that one of the people that had been considered for Nicole Kidman's role of Satine was Courteney Love .
It wouldn't have been much of a stretch for her, playing a "lady of the night".
I must agree with you Mike. There is no comparison when it comes to the two.. I haven't seen this movie either but I must agree with Celticrose...Courtney Love??

Dreamer,
Oh, wish your little girl a Happy Birthday!!! I haven't seen this show but plan on checking it out now...
Just saw these two, both with Jamie Foxx and was totally blown away by his talent. I think we will here a lot from Jamie in there very near future!
Ray - Foxx so nailed, Ray Charles' movements, facial expressions, etc. Plus the music was fantastic.
Collateral - Total surprise from Foxx. Tom Cruise plays and older (grey hair and all) character that is a real departure for him. Foxx did an amazing job in this role.

Take a look, may surprise you!
donchais, I thought that was a great movie. I wasn't a really big fan of Ray Charles and I definetley learned a lot about him. I thought Jamie Foxx did a great job.
We just saw Bride and Predjudice yesterday. What an awesome movie. It's an Indian movie out of Bollywood, directed by the same person who did Bend it Like Beckham. This movie was hilarious and VERY well done. I'd recommend it to everyone.
I changed movie programs with my satellite dish folks yesterday and so now I have HBO and Cinemax.........wanted more current movies than what I had been seeing on Showtime.
Anyway, I got to finally see this movie last night that I have been wanting to see for a long time called, "The Girl With the Pearl Earring." Wonderful movie about one of my favorite Dutch artists Jacques Vermeer and how he supposedly came about doing that portrait. I don't know how accurate the story is, but the movie was still very good.
Oh wasn't Colin Firth very yummy looking in that film?! I had wished that that movie had gone further really. Really liked him in that role. Another good looking man!
I went and saw The Ring Two on Friday when I went out on a date with an ex-boyfriend from years ago (long story) and it wasn't that bad!! Some parts in the movie had me jumping but I think the first one was better for scariness.
Really? I hear a lot of advetising saying that it's been said that it's MORE scary than the original.......which did kinda creep me out.....I still want to see "SAW" and my husband and I have a date to go see "Sahara" at the movies the day after it somes out at theatres.
Looooooooooooove Matthew McConahey (sp?)
Just curious here....has anyone seen the first movie from a Clive Cussler book, "Raise The Titanic" and if you have, did you like it? My husband and I love it, it's a definate favorite, but on the Cussler board that I post on, it seems to be universally hated....
I am right there with y'all on Colin Firth! I saw Bride and Prejudice, which was fabulous, just like Brian said! My daughter and I have seen it twice! We also saw the Pacifier with Vin Deisel. That was a great movie - I had no idea he was good for anything more than being a beefcake...
