I just wanted to say "Hello" and to thank y'all for providing the radio. I've been looking for something like this for a long time.

I am Mark McCullough, of the Clan McCullough/McCulloch.

I am learning that my ancestors came to America in the early 1700's from Ulster. And the rumor is that 100 years earlier then came from lowland Scotland.

One day I hope to find a solid link back to Scotland. I have always enjoyed attending Highland Games, and now I know why.

The music is so soothing, yet exciting. I image the company here is the same.

Hello Mark
I am from the Capital of Scotland, slap bang in the central belt, which is how we refer to the 'Lowlands' nowadays!

Hello to everyone. I am new to the forum and as you can see I am american. And although most people around the world hate us americans, I am very proud of my heritage and am fascinated by the history and lore of Scotland. Surnames are McPherson and Hartman.(Scottish and German) I look forward to posting more and I love this station! So far my favorites are 'Barret's Privateers' (Stan Rogers version) and 'Puirt a Beul' by Eilidh Mackenzie. Come to think of it, every song that I have requested from the 'Celtic Mouth Music' cd is really good.

Seeing as how I've actually been a member here for several months, I figured it was long past time for me to post something in the new member welcome board. I've never been much for introductions so forgive me if I am uninformative.
Like I said before I have been listening to Highlander for several months now. I originally ran across the station when I was searching for renaissance style music. I happen to be the ?un-official? Shanty-man for an SCA ship in the kingdom of Antir. It is a fine land worthy vessel with full masts and rigging. Quite impressive and I do have more pictures I can post if requested.
I suppose I should include some personal information as well. My name is Trevor and I?m from Oregon. I?ve always been inspired by Scottish music and history and about 2 years ago my wife and I started tracing our genealogy back and discovered our heritage. Turns out we are both related to the Sinclair clan.
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know all of you better. To all of the moderators and especially Macfive: Thanks for the wonderful place to relax, meet people and listen to great music!

Hello,
I've been listening for several months now as well and really enjoy the station. i'm hoping that all goes well and it will be back up soon.
So to introduce myself, I'm Penny and I live in Eastern Washington. I have been facinated with my heritage and scotland since I first became interested in geneology in highschool, and as a result I'm always on the lookout for things celtic.
My husband and I got to take a trip a couple of years ago and visit Scotland and we thouroughly enjoyed ourselves. We're hoping to be able to make a return trip when our kids are a little older.
I've found many interesting post and hope to be able to contribute.
Take care,
Penny
