We are introducing a new broadcast over at Live 365.com. This special broadcast plays only soft celtic streaming music for times when you need to relax or reflect to some quieter music. It's perfect for rainy days or late night evenings.

To create this broadcast we have taken the very best of our soft instrumental and vocal tracks from Highlander Radio. We also have plenty of room for expansion, so please recommend any of your favorite 'soft' tracks.

This broadcast plays at 64kps and is mp3pro compatible. There is currently over 7 hours of music included in the first playlist rotation! Unfortunately, it is supported in part by live365 advertising, but you can purchase a live365 account (for 12 cents a day) to remove advertising. You can also help us by ranking our new broadcast from the radio tools on live365.

To begin listening, visit our Broadcast home over at Live365.com!

This looks right up my alley. thumbs_up.gif Thank you! Now to discover if it will be compatable with my dinosaur computer. unsure.gif

And as for suggested songs - as always - The Price of Fire by Capercaille

Thanks again for the continual updates to the site.

OK, I'm logged onto Live365. I'm on the Broadcast Home page - CelticHearts. But when I try to play, it tells me the station isn't available. What am I doing wrong? unsure.gif

Looks like it is up and running now. Just follow the wizard settings when you go to click listen. I recommend using your own mp3 such as winamp 2.9 (must be installed first) to get the best results.

No, I just tried again. Went through the wizard setting, etc. It just keeps telling me the station is unavailable.

Do you have a broadband or modem connection. This new broadcast is only available to broadband users; otherwise it seems to be working. There were 90 people that listened to it yesterday with a total of 35 listening hours.

Alas, I am on a modem. sad.gif

I cannot tell you how sad that makes me. But, we've been talking about getting on the high speed network. This may be the little incentive that pushes the decision over the edge. biggrin.gif I'll tell my husband I had to have it. laugh.gif

And as to requests tongue.gif The music from the Ken Burns documentary on the Civil War always gets to me. smile.gif

A lot of times I tend to prefer "softer" music, but alas, when I went to Live365 I was immediately greeted by a particularly high-energy commercial. What a surprise! Highlander Radio is pretty much the only Internet radio I listen to. I had forgotten what it was like to deal with the commercials.

I think I'd rather support HR, and accept the occasional song that I wouldn't have chosen for the playlist.

Nice idea though.

    I listen for returning feet
    and voices at the door."

I like the soft celtic music in the evening time. There are times I have a really bad day and I need something to soothe this weary body.

Elspeth, I hope you get broadband. You'll love it! biggrin.gif

Yeah, the downside to the new broadcast at live365 is that it is partly supported by their advertising. You can purchase an account for a few dollars a month to remove the advertising.

We are going to try it for 3 months and see how it goes. It is very inexpensive and it might bring in some new listeners and members to our main broadcast and website.

Alas, it seems not to be. Will probably be on dial-up for another year. The highspeed stuff is just too dang expensive.

This is breaking my heart! crybaby.gif
This is exactly what I want to listen to - but can't. crybaby.gif

Isn't this just like life? Finally figure out what you want only to be told you can't have it?

Let me think about it and see what we can do. Eventually we will have an actual broadcast program and I've always thought it appropriate that at night we should be playing just the soft stuff.
