Finally, someone that has the same interest! I have a great appreciation for all things sharp and pointy.

I have looked at several models online claiming to be celtic in design and most seem to be nothing more than pretty paper weights.

I am always looking for a nice full tang well balanced piece of steel but few offer them for less than $3-400.

I have no pics at this time but will probably post some later.

What sort of blades do you have jime307?

Thanks Rindy, I'll be sure to check that out. I have'nt got the collection I want so far, (who does?), but I must admit my favorite blade so far is my Katana. I love the balance and feel of it.

Very nice thanks for posting the picture. I like the way you set it on the bamboo. Thanks again, nice sword.

I have been thinking about adding a nice Medieval Sword to my collection. I want something similar to the picture attached and I really want something well balanced, sharp and would prefer not to drop over $200 for it. Sadly all I have found so far are right about that price and usually a stage style (unsharpened) with a cheap or no sheath included.

Does anyone have some suggestions?

I also like the knives and swords. I have quite a few knives but am yet to find the bastard sword I'm looking for. I don't want the toys that you see out there or one that would break or shatter because it was poor metal or cooled to quickly. Any suggestions on where to look?

Montie, Did you ever find your bastard sword? Every once in a while you can find a good one on Amazon that is made for reenactments. Those can typically be sharpened and quite practical but they average $300+. CAS Swords do pretty well.

I'm a bit of a sword fan, though my tastes run more to the piratical persuasion. biggrin.gif

I started my "collection" with a $50 hanger from a online sword store. I wouldn't trust it to cut balsa wood but it looked good on my belt.

I recently found a blacksmith in the Georgia area who is a very talented sword maker and acquired my "permanent" (until I can afford another) sword. His swords are combat ready, steel on steel or you can cut a tree down if you are so inclined... I think I have attached a pic, if not I will try linking to it.

LouisianaJeff, very nice pic thanks for sharing!

I haven't added any cutlass style to my collection yet but that one looks pretty sharp.

Yes cheesy pun intended. lamo.gif

Currently, in my "Armory" is a large Two-Handed sword with my clan name on the hilt, a basket hilt Claymore, a rapier, a cutlass, a main gauche, two Scots dirks, and an array of Skien Dubhs. More to come and am interested in manufacturing them. A friend used to make them from leaf springs found in old vehicles... king.gif
