Just wondering how everyone found Highlander Radio...

Myself, did a search on Yahoo! under "Celtic radio stations" and the link came up.

I was searching for some sites while updating the link section on our website and came across it in a search that was unrelated. Some of the best things in life come when you aren't looking for them!!

I forget now what I was looking for , something of a Scottish nature I am sure (maybe celtic knotwork?), but the link to this site came up in that search for something else.  It was a most happy accident the day I found "the music!" Then the music led me to this forum, and my first conversation regarding my Scottish roots and my Uncle Joe (BTW, do you still have the cute graphic that you made of my Uncle Joe, Dave?)

That was many postings ago... :p

As for me I found the site through a link on my clan web site.  Glad I chose to see what this was all about. :D

I was playing around with the Celtic music links folder in my favorite places, and adding a few spots.  There was (apparently) a link from some other page.  Now, this IS the place to be!

Gosh it's been so long ago.  I joined the foum first looking for clan information back in Oct 2001.  I started listening to the radio soon after.  Back then I was the 19th member to join.  When I look at how many members there are now.  WOW!!

It was a half heeded comment in the chatroom or message board on the site of a certain group lol . I find it intercontinental supergalactic that "my lads" are played such a lot here. I just wish the "normal" Radio Stations, like BBC 2 or BBC Radio Scotland would play them as much. To do them the honours - Rčidio nan Gŕidheal  plays them rather a lot in comparison  :D  But these guys are the only one , sigh. When will they ever learn what they' ve done for Scottish music, culture and language over the last 30 (!) years?

Wow! This is a really nice thread for me to read over and think that people do like this site! :) Thanks for everyone's nice comments here. I just wish I had the time to get the forum back up to snuff, but soon enough it will happen.

Well, the whole reason I started this site was because I had been to my first Highland Game and wanted to listen to music I heard, but could not really find any. So hence was born Highlander Radio.....
