I'm also concerned as to what Bretons think about 'outsiders' buying holiday homes in their land.

Hello George ! smile.gif

Welcome to the forum, love your avatar wink.gif . I can try to answer your question (I think I'm the only Breton as an active member of the forum tongue.gif ).

Well, my opinion is divided...
Of course we're glad to welcome people from other countries (specially our celts cousins from Ireland laugh.gif ), it's always a good thing to mix cultures, everyone learn something in the experience.
People from UK buying houses in the center of Brittany (retires people from France prefer to buy near the coast) is often the only way to save old and beautiful houses wich would be a great loss for our patrimony if they were not. Bretons need to settle down near the cities for professionnal purposes. And I'm afraid they have not enough money to buy such houses and restore them...
The problem is because of the number of people buying houses in Brittany, the average price for a house has increased of 30,4% in 4 years ! Salaries are very low here...

Welcome to Skyelander too, I visited your site before, very interesting ! thumbs_up.gif

Hey guys, I haven't been here in awhile so I'm not sure if anyone remembers me. I've been a busy little beaver as of late with school, my job and a story I'm writing. So how have you guys been?
