I told Maisky I'd post a new topic on cats. Besides, he has his puppy to talk about. Of course, there won't be any water stories, at least not about trying to teach a kitty to swim, then on the other hand....

It's a good thing cats have nine lives! Children and cats can often lead to hilarious situations.

New installment on the adventures of kitty cats. We got a new kitten recently, named Billie by my daughter after Billie Joe, a singer of whom very few of you have heard I'm sure. Anyway, to continue on the cat and water theme....

I just realized I need to give a little background. We have a three year old cat named Sammy who is part manx (Will try to get a picture for you. My daughter is the digital camera fiend and so has all the pictures downloaded on HER computer.) anyway, Sammy shows his island ancestry by wanting to spend time next to water. Notice I said NEXT TO, not IN. In the morning when I'm brushing my teeth he saunters in and jumps into the bathtub waiting for me to run a little bit of water in it so that he has a pond to enjoy. He won't even drink from it, just sits next to it and pretends he's back on the Isle of Man I suppose.

Anyway, back to Billie. The kitten has decided that Sammy is about the smartest thing born since Einstein and so follows Sammy around imitating whatever he does. He blithely jumped into the bathtub and sat with Sammy next to their little pond, but then it came time for my shower. Sammy got the hint and jumped out to go on his way. Billie, who as you will learn is a little slow on the uptake, didn't jump out. I decided to see how he liked "rain." The poor kitten became so flustered he forgot how to jump over the side of the tub! His claws could find no purchase and the more wet he got the more distressed he became. I saved the poor soul, swiftly so as to minimize claw damage, and the next instant poor Billie was streaking down the stairs to safety!
