I absolutely can not stop playing the game since... well since forever. Doesn't mean I'm great, but pretty good. Love to hear some stories...

Here's one. Me and my dad were playing this old course that only had one yardage marker per hole. It was a black and white wooden pole to indicate 159 yards. We were playing with two gentlemen one of which was nicknamed Woody for his uncanny luck of hitting a bad shot and having it hit a tree and bounce back into play. Woody had complained all day about how poorly he was driving the ball. We come to the 13th hole and Woody rips one straight down the middle, I mean straight down the middle. It drills the 150 yard marker and goes dead right 25 yards into the trees. We were all about falling over laughing, except poor Woody of course...

I am currently working on and doing research for the writing of a fictional novel in which the country being invaded is a celtic one. Any suggestions on content or research would be welcome.

I used to love to go golfing, but since I hurt my back I've been afraid to go.

Well aside from a stretching and strengtheing program for your back I would suggest check out "The Plane Truth for Golfers" by Jim Hardy. The one plane swing will ease the pain on your back if executed properly.

I too have been bitten by the little golf bug. Unfortunately, time and money prevents me from playing as much as I would like. I do, however, play an enormous amount of cyber golf, courtesy of EA sports and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005. Online, my name is SthrnCelt. It is truly a great computer golf game, with an incredible amount of realism, especially in contrast to other golf games. The mode I enjoy the most is expert level. There, you are not afforded the luxuries of some helps such as hot keys to see your projected shot path, grids to determine the break of the greens, or helps with determining which club to use. In the expert mode, it is truly the closest thing to the way real golf plays that I have ever seen.

The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859

Education: that which reveals to the wise, and conceals from the stupid, the vast limits of their knowledge.

Yeah I'm pretty lucky with being able to practice. For $50 a month I get unlimited range balls at a local golf course. As for having enough money to play, well that is a bit of a problem. It's a tough decision but when it comes to it I have to choose golfing or food. Most of the time I choose food. Most of the time.

OMG, been there too! Out on the 13th hole, unable to hear the sound of the little stream nearby due to the rumble in my stomach!
