Danann! My excuse is that I have been out of state for the past 5 days. I am so sorry for what all you have had to go through, but very thankful to God for the good news. I had a severe sprained ankle two years ago and I kind of know what you are going through. with mine I ruptured an artery! You take care of that ankle of yours and wear some really comfy wedding tennis shoes maybe. That is what my niece did and she danced the night away! Hoping and praying the same for you! God bless and keep us posted on you as you approach your wonderful day! smile.gif

Ok, ya'll are all declared prayer warriors in my book. I got the final results on my ankle today. Its just a serious sprain. He gave me a brace to wear all the time except for sleeping, and some excersizes to do to strengthen the muscles back up. He wants to see me back in 3 weeks to see if there's improvement, if not, he's going to make me go to PT... he wants me to be able to walk all over England too!

And Celtic Rose... you're gonna make me blush!

Make sure you wear the brace exactly as the doctor ordered, Danann, so you can enjoy dancing at your wedding and walking all over England. biggrin.gif My family always start out following the instructions, but as soon as they start feeling better they get a little lax. I'm sure you won't tho, will you! wink.gif

I think that CelticRose's suggestion of wedding tennis shoes is a great idea. Perhaps you should check it out. biggrin.gif

Boy...I bet that I sound just like your mom, don't I? Sorry 'bout that! rolleyes.gif

I've got the brace on and tennis shoes on the feet, did the streches last night and all. I will do my best not to get lax about it... and since the receptionist told me she was a patient and he knew that she wasn't doing the exercises - I'll have some incentive! The biggest thing now is the shoes... do I go with comfy, or do I go with heels since I am 5'3" and need some height to kiss my 6'2" love... Dancing isn't too big of a concern, since by the man's request we aren't dancing... well, nothing official anyway! I'm not much of a dancer, truth be told. That's my sister's forté.

But I will take care of this foot, and if I have to... I'll go to the therapy. Scouts honor!

Ah shoes! Being 5'2" myself, I never felt 'dressed up' without some heels, but SO much of that special day is spent on your feet!

Have you checked out any of the platform type shoes? Maybe platform tennies? laugh.gif Or sandlas. Comfort and height combined.

Hey! that is a good idea Elspeth. My neice did the platform tennis shoe thing. They even had sparkle sequence on them! I say go for comfort because like Elspeth says, you will be on your feet most of the time anyway. I am like you. I am not much into dancing either! Take care of that ankle and yourself.........you want to be able to enjoy the happiest day of your life to the maximum, Danann! wink.gif smile.gif

My daughter was married last June and she wore a pair of silkie like ballerina shoes. They were so cute. The little flower girls had shoes to match. The reason she decided on that type of shoe she is a little taller than her husband and didn't want to have to bend down to kiss him! biggrin.gif

Take care of that ankle now so you won't have problems with it later. Words from someone who has been there! biggrin.gif

When is the big day?

Danann! yes please take care of that ankle! I sprained mine so badly two years ago that I ruptured an artery and I didn't go to the doctor until much later. It took a whole year for me to recover...........pretty stupid of me, eh?

I am pleased to say that with the brace and the new exercises my ankle seems to be feeling even better since Thursday. I know, don't lay off just because the swelling and pain have gone down. The doc was most worried about the fact that I rolled it 2 times since the original injury. But I am still on track with the streches and the brace. I have my eye on some comfortable tall shoes. It should be good. I go in for my dress fitting this Thursday, and even had it on today! I love it! I felt like such the bride, and one of my best friends was with me, and she just gushed over it! I am so glad I chose it. And I guess for special requests I will show it.

The new life of low carb eating is about to resume. I am going back on a mix of Atkins and South Beach... I guess that'd be Sugar Busters... but no more sugar or empty carbs for me. I might lose some weight even after this fitting, but that's the breaks. Here's to praying that the Insulin will get back under control and the ankle will be all better!
