it vanished into thin air. Shamus spun around, to see the beast reappear only inches away. As the beast swung it's mighty claw at Shamus, he dropped to one knee and thrust his Claymore deep into the heart of the beast. Shamus drew his Claymore, from the beast a brilliant light came from the open wound.
The beast was gone, but from the spot where it had fallen two more beasts appeared they were even larger than the first. Suddenly Shamus realized, that Donal and Jamie we're both beside him. The three of them were battling the beasts, when the Druids attacked.
The battle was on, it was win or lose on this field of battle. And to lose meant the end of all that was good. There were beast of all kinds, some were attacking Amy. She was at the alter and it seemed that she was being protected by something, maybe it was the flat stone she was holding. As the battle raged around her, Amy started chanting........

DISCIPLINE MUST BE A HABIT SO INGRAINED THAT IT IS STRONGER THAN THE EXCITEMENT OF BATTLE OR THE FEAR OF DEATH. General George S. Patton
Laws that forbid the carrying of firearms, disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assulted, and better for the assailants. They serve rather to encourge, than to prevent homicides. For an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

in an ancient Ogham language. She had no idea what she was saying, and yet, she spoke smoothly and without hesitation, It was as if she had heard this ancient chant from Eire as a child. The first of the Druids leaped upon the altar and came at Amy. She never raised a weapon at him and he simply disintegrated. Two others tried and met the same fate. Seeing that they were no match for Amy at this point, the bulk of the group made a run for the others.
Shamus, Donal, and Jamie were in a bad way. Every time they killed one of the beasts they faced, two more appeared where the fallen beast had stood. "It's fun takin' 'em down, Brother, but this is gettin' to be a problem!" shouted Donal to Shamus. As Shamus ducked under another blow from a beast, he called out to Jamie. "Any spells or ideas, old friend? We could sure use a bit of yer magic now!" Before Jamie could answer, one of the creatures knocked the claymore from his hand. Before he could retrieve it, the beast had lifted him up bu the neck and let our a deafening roar. Shamus and Donal looked on helplessly as their lifelong friend was about to be devoured. Suddenly, a flash of light, pale blue in color and narrow in shape, struck and the monster dropped Jamie to the ground with a thud. The creature shrieked in obvious pain and fell did, smoldering. Jamie looked and saw Grace standing with fire in her eyes, holding a sort of lance that he had not seen before. Grace shouted, "I'll be dogged if I'm losin' ya that easily!" Jamie smiled and retrieved his claymore.

with beasts of their own to battle. Many of the men lay wounded and dying, Shamus was starting to worry. He felt the end was near, turning to Donal he said we must hold on. Donal smiled as he swung his heavy claymore, ya no be worryin brother! ye have me here and Jamie too. Shamus shook his head and winked at Donal, then turned his attention back to the fighting. Jamie was running to help Fergus, when an arrow struck him just above the knee. He went to the ground, just as another pierced his left shoulder. Jamie just layed there still as death, Grace saw him go down and ran to his side. She bent over him, as another arrow struck him in the foot. Jamie smiled as he looked up at her, and said darlin would ya be pullin these things out of me. Grace gently removed the arrows from Jamie. Then removed a small jar from her bag, and put an ointment on the wounds. Jamie looked up in time to see three druids, attacking him and Grace. He pushed Grace aside reached into his pocket, and came out with a reddish powder. He thru the powder into the air, as the Druids ran through it they fell helplessly to the ground. Amy was still at the alter and...........
