There's a version on HR w/ a female singing Caledonia, I just can't remember which one... Really, really nice, similar to the Stationary Willberries' version, but noticeably different, a bit more sad. Anyone know?

I believe Mary Black did a rendition of that =)

That would be the one. Mmm, good, too.

The version of Caledonia which often appears on the "top ten" list and is listed in the request lists as "Caledonia" by Celtic Music is actually performed by Delores Keane and can be found on her "best of" album. This is available on Amazon.

DonMagee,

Your avatar.... 'Enter the Haggis'?

Ah, don, but the question arises: Is that the song I seek? I found the one I wanted, and it was Mary Black's version...which I know is on here. I know, of course, because I heard it here.

Keltic - yes the avatar is for Enter the Haggis

CeltWolf - A few months ago the song Caledonia was listed in the request list as being performed by Mary Black and from her Speaking with an Angel album. If you were to go to Amazon and look at the play list for that album, you would find that Caledonia was not included. There was some issues with a few songs on the play list not being by the indicated performer. I believe that MacFive received some complaints from people who had purchased albums and later found that the song they were looking for was not on the album. Mac made some corrections recently and changed the Caledonia song from Mary Black to Celtic Music (a generic term). since it appeared he wasn't able identify the actual artist.

A search of Mary Black's website also indicated that she has not recorded Caledonia. Searching Amazon for the song title, I was able to find a clip performed by Delores Keane, which to my ear is identical to the song which was listed here as Mary Black's and is not listed as being performed by Celtic Music. This is available on two of her CDs.

I have purchased the Delores Keane Best Of album from Amazon and received it last week. It is excellent.

Try searching in Amazon for Delores Keane or for Caledonia and check out the music clips. I hope you find what you are looking for.

What about that wonderful track I heard here that was mislabeled as being from Loreena McKennitt's "To Drive the Cold Winter Away"? It was a beautiful insturmental track labeled simply as "Irish Music". I'd never heard of it, and Quinlan Road assures me they have never heard of it either. But it's pretty, and I would like to know more about it.
