I haven't been here in several years, but I'm going to check around to see if there are any of the old familiar faces from times gone by when I spent a lot of time in the pub here. |

Just finished the 5th series of Call the Midwife on Netflix. Wow, there was an ending I wasn't expecting.
Still working my way through Midsomer Murders. We're on the 9th series.
Luther's newest series on Netflix was only a two-parter, but it was good.
On Acorn TV, we just started Boomers. It's fun. June Whitfield is a hoot, as always. Working through The Last Detective, too. Peter Davison - :-)
I don't watch anything that's not on Netflix or Acorn TV these days. Can't tolerate the commercials, and most of it's not worth my time, anyway. LOL!

One question - last year, you had to be listening to Highlander Radio and then post something quickly or send an email when you heard the prize announcement. Is there a change this year? Because, with my Internet radio crashing regularly today, and seeing announcements being made on this thread, my brain is not quite processing everything.
also, I'm on meds for my bronchitis and good lord things aren't normal around here. |

My highlander radio just went on the fritz and I totally had to scramble to get back. grr...
Whoever got Marc's cd, congrats! I always look forward to seeing him each year at Dragon*Con.
I'm hoping for a tee-shirt today. My car wears my bumper sticker proudly (although it is definitely getting a bit shabby).
that is, if my computer doesn't crap out on me again when it's time for prizes. |

Hey everybody!
I just got up (been sick for two weeks so early morning is not my friend right now) but I'm ready for the contests.
Well, I will be ready - I have to reboot the computer first so I can have some sound. That would be a nice addition. ;-)

I'll kick in some fingerless gloves (handknit, of course) for the next poster now that it's even cold in Georgia!
Now, I'm going to settle down with that hot toddie that I scored from the piper.

It's 66 degrees and cloudy outside at just after 5pm. We had some nice cold weather for a while there (good for the knitting business) but now I am wearing sleeveless tank tops again so I don't get too warm to knit. Silly weather.

The sleepy wombat stirs and shivers. Glancing around the pub, she spies a lovely mug of hot wassail on the hearth. No one seems to be nearby, so she decided this looks like the perfect way to warm up. Aaah, a hot toddy, a fire blazing, and some lovely music. Who could ask for anything more?
Now, let's just look around and see who else is here... |

Let's see - on the home front, I've been watching my Christmas DVD collection:
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the original) Miracle on 34th Street (in black and white!) The Muppet Christmas Carol (my favourite version of the classic story)
Tonight I'll be watching White Christmas. Then I still have It's a Wonderful Life, Hogfather, and the Charlie Brown Christmas. If my dad was able to find Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas, I'll watch it too.
In the theatres, let's see - I absolutely loved Quantum of Solace! We are planning on seeing Valkyrie (even though I'm not a big Tom Cruise fan anymore). I think the last thing I saw before the Bond movie was Burn After Reading which I really enjoyed, also.
I guess that's it for now. Merry Christmas movie viewing!

Good lord - I have to hide that hat before my dad (a die-hard Yankees fan most of his 86 years) sees it!
Tosses a bottle of purple nail polish to the next poster. (Don't worry - I still have another one here)

I refuse to turn the air conditioner back on but it's 79 (high of 82) and the weather channel says it feels like 82. Actually, if you're upstairs at my place, it feels more like about 89 and that's with the windows open for cross-ventilation. Tomorrow's high is supposed to be 74 though. Thank goodness. |
