I just received word that Beth, my cousin, has been tentatively diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) which is the human form of bovine spongiform encephalitis (mad cow disease). This is an always fatal brain wasting disease. Please add Beth to your prayer lists and let us pray that this diagnosis is wrong.

So sorry to hear of this. My thoughts and prayers are hers and yours.

Of course the diagnosis must be wrong!

If you are accepting prayers from heathens, mine go up to the dieties for your kin!

What dreadful news for Beth. You have our prayers in Christ for her well-being! May your family receive peace, strength and better news soon.

Beth was in the hospital nearly a month before they made the tentative diagnosis of CJD. That was confirmed and she was sent to hospice. Now, barely two weeks later she has passed. The disease moved much more quickly than is normal for CJD; which is a blessing. Although she lost the ability to speak, she seemed aware until very close to the end, also rare for CJD. She is now with her heavenly family and I must believe they are rejoicing to see one another again. Sadly, she leaves no children, had no siblings, only cousins to remember her to the next generation. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. I'm sure that Beth's passing was eased by your intercessions on her behalf.

So sorry to hear of this.

I can only believe that she is in a better place without the earthly bonds. My continued prayers and thoughts for her and the family.
