I am a Dow! smile.gif

My branch of the family came to America around 1630 (Henry Dow), from Runham, England. I have my line traced back to about 1500, and am happy to share information, though I don't have sources. (Was focused on getting the line, and not necessarily iron-cladding the information.)

The Buchanans of Stirling claim the Dow surname, and in the village of Drymen near the ancestral lands of the Buchanans, there are Dows on the war memorials.

And Paul, thank you for the avatar! smile.gif

Hi Taliesin!

We appreciate your patience. Been a bit behind with St. Patrick's Day and setting up our new database server.

But, glad to atleast provide you with the avatar and an entry in our heraldry database. Hopefully we can run across some more information on this family, but this is a great start. Very interesting history and atleast you have an idea of their ancestral lands.
