Celtic Radio Community > Suggestion Box > King Arthur Is Coming!

Posted by: CelticRadio 14-Sep-2008, 07:20 AM
Part of the fun of this game is in keeping with certain themes and playing along with the context of the game.

That is why we created our news service to be called "The Scribe" and also allow for charactor role playing in the game and in the forums.

Coming soon will be the High King of Medieval Kingdom: King Arthur!

King Arthur will have an incredible army of solders, a huge cache of gold, food and wood. He will be pretty much untouchable, however, we will leave open the possibility that he could be overthrown by another Kingdom or an alliance of Kingdoms.

In addition, King Arthur will help new Kingdom's establish themselves and will also protect these smaller Kingdoms from unfair advantages. Resources and workers can be requested from King Arthur and as long as you are in good favor he will honor your request.

As long as the new king doesn't impose a tax for his services I can't wait to meet him! king.gif

Perhaps! That was a good suggestion! wink.gif

But seriously, way down the road we are going to build a "Real Life Events" system that will simulate some of the random things that could have happened in Medieval Times. From storms, to famines, crop failures - maybe even joining 2 Kingdoms together.

This sounds like a great idea. It should add another interesting aspect to the game. But I do have a couple of questions. Will there be any benefits to taking over Arthur's kingdom? And is there any idea when the King might be implemented?

We will start the King Arthur realm very soon. Just finalizing the MK home page and we need to build King Author's auction house! All proceeds of gold will go to help the poor and homeless of MK! smile.gif

We might make the request to King Arthur automated so that you could request certain items from him and then your account will get assigned a rating. The more you request from him the less likely he will have favor on you.

Perhaps if you send him some resources it will increase your favor and then you will be able to request his assistance.

There really is alot of work to do, so I don't want people thing the game is going to stay the same as it is now. Once we get past the homepage business we can concentrate on the game design, logic and enhancements.

We will be working on the King Arthur aspect of the game soon. This will involve changing the welcome email and also creating a 'King Arthur' modication to request help.

Paul I was wondering why the people that signed up to play this wonderful and fun game, haven't been playing. I know it could be lots of reasons,I thought of one.The Auction, maybe they just signed up for that. I have a idea that if they want to participate in the Auction they would have to be playing the game. It's just to Peaceful in the Kingdom, this is a game and games are to be played. I can't believe it was really like this in Medieval times.

I have to agree with you Harlot but you can kinda see what's happening here if you think about it. We're all too nice to just start attacking people for the hell of it. People that have respect for each other don't make very good enemies cool.gif

Since most of us are obviously peaceful minded for the most part perhaps we need something in the game to stimulate us into wartime behavior.

Perhaps when things are slow the game could stir up trouble somewhere. Misleading information/spy reports that would lead one into suspecting an attack. Whether we like to believe it or not corruption and deception played a part in many a war. What better a way to promote activity in a war game then some good ole' fashioned corruption?

and/or

Make the occasional famines much more severe causing members to be forced to fight to gain resources. You would have to reap a much greater benefit on an attack to make this worthwhile though.

Would this stir up problems? It probably would sometimes, but that would be the point wouldn't it?
