Last night I found out the St Andrews Society of St.Louis will be hosting their 2nd annual Highland Games Oct 11 and Oct 12. So soory about the late notice. It will be held at Forest Park. I suppose it will be a great time.  Ill try to wake up to the event earlier next year.

Hey Knight! Welcome to the Highlander Radio forum!

Well thanks for the heads up about this event.

Talk about just finding out about the event, I made the unfortunate mistake of sending away for tickets to a Highland Game in CT - then the day before the event opening up the mail to find I had signed up for the wrong Highland Game and best of all the date had already past!

Again, welcome to the forum! :)

Ive now missed the Highland games both years. by the time I realize they are happening, they are over in our area. The ancestry that brought my name to America was Scottish and My wifes' Irish. She isnt so keen to going to the games, but I am gathering support on a two week trip to Scotland and Ireland in 2003. Ive been learning a bit of Gaelic and trying to learn the customs of the culture. What you dont say is important as what you do say.  Maybe I can see the Games there!!

Hey Knight,

You can always check for all Highland Game events at the world root location of www.maclachlans.org.

They have complete listings of all Highland Games and probably including the games in your area, so if you check every so often you might be able to see one of those games.

Of course, going to Scotland beats all, and while I have never been to Scotland or Ireland, I am sure they must have some fantastic games there!

:)D
