I don't think the few cry babies responsible for this, really want to hear what I really have to say. furious.gif

What's up with this?
Why is one of the funniest, nicest men leaving?
Please don't go! Sockabelle is nothing without her Peckery!

Posted by: WizardofOwls 08-Jun-2004, 09:07 PM
Yeah! Don't go! We'd all miss ya way too much! (Oh how it hurt to write that! smile.gif )

Seriously though, we WOULD miss ya!

Peckery, there isn't one person on this network that hasen't over stepped their bounds in one way or another!

Well except MacFive (the powerful oz) and he is the ultimate in reason.
I'm sure everyone can chill out and forgive and forget!

Posted by: oldraven 08-Jun-2004, 09:15 PM
C'mon man. There's no need for that. Nobody wants anyone to leave. I know I don't, and I'm one of those cry babies, I guess. (you got something to say Egan, you know where my pm box is, don't sling crap and expect not to get called on it)

Seriously though, Peckery, many of us have stepped over the line, purposely or not, and now all is forgotten. This is a very forgiving crowd, and honestly, that whole thread was out of my mind a week ago.

I will say this, though it may get me in trouble; that last slap you got on the wrist, I wouldn't have made that call. Sounds WAY over the top to me. But I'm sure he's got his reasons.

I just wish we could all go back to two weeks ago and move on.

Posted by: Annabelle 08-Jun-2004, 09:43 PM
Everyone chill! Please stop !

I don't want anyone leaving !

Please, Raven call Peckery and tell him come home!

Hang in there Peckery,

There isn't one person here who at one time or another hasn't said something that wasn't side tracked just for the fun of it. I know I have done it many times myself.

Some people takes life too seriously, some people doesn't take life serious at all, but there are more of us who takes life both ways and we get along better because of it.

I have thought of starting a thread called "Side Tracks" so if someone wants to post something in it and it got side tracked to another subject, then another, then another, then so what. That way when ever you post something in it, you won't be side tracking from the subject at all. tongue.gif

So just hang in there, everything will get smoothed out soon enough and it will all blow over. wink.gif

Richard, one of the Thunderbird boards I frequent has a thread like that. Hi-jacking is against the rules over there too, but this one was just crazy. So the lead admin let it go and renamed it "http://p089.ezboard.com/ffoxthunderbirdsuserrides.showMessage?topicID=364.topic" laugh.gif

8 pages, and only 6 posts were on topic. I'm afraid it's getting too commonplace over there now though.

C'mon Monkey Boy! You're part of this forum. No matter what anyone else thinks of your posts, I've always enjoyed the wacky, off the wall stuff. I hope you reconsider.

What would a monkey do at the polar ice cap???? Who will darn his little sock eyes when the polar bears bite them off?

Better come back down here where it's warmer and Sockabelle can darn your little monkey eyes.

I honestly think those who are at odds with Peckery should be the ones asking him not to leave.

Sort your issues people.

I concure with OldRaven!

No one should be argueing. That is not what this site was intended for. Let's get back to chillin and talkin with each other and enjoy the other's company with the great music.
Chill !

The polar cap is melting anyway due to the world heating up so you'll just have to swim home anyway!
We all love ya MonkeyBoy!

Sometimes in life we have the honor of meeting a truly great individual. Someone full of compassion and wisdom and with that special quality that sets them above the normal. Those encounters are rare because those individuals are rare. Besides, if we met folks like that everyday we would pass our lives breathlessly passing from day to day, giddy with thoughts of those great and unattainable. Right it is that we know only one or two individuals like that in our lifetimes.

In our midst may have been one of those individuals. And with all of those wonderful qualities held closely in check so as not to frighten us mere mortals they may have passed within inches of our very selves. Was this who Peckery was? Personally I doubt it, but the eulogy is much nicer spoken in that manner then any other isn?t it? Besides, not very many people really have very good reading comprehension skills so most of them will think I am indeed speaking of Peckery anyway.

It is with much sadness that some of us watch our happy-go-lucky sock monkey pass off into the frigid northland, never again to cheer us with those carefree posts of, ?monkey, monkey.? But it seems now the world needs some sort of order and that utter inanity is not to be the rule of the day (or night for that matter). As deep as that wounds many of us we will fold and flow with the times because we have no other choice and because our coat hems are stuck in the web and flow of time itself. So like tiny children running breathlessly beside the car of life screaming at the top of our little lungs, ?Open the door, I?m caught!?, we will pass along the highway of life until we finally trip and skin our knees and our little coats are veritably ripped off of our bodies. We will be wounded for that, but much better off then if it had been a finger caught rather then a quarter inch of cheap fabric with an oversize zipper handle which constantly slips off the tracks and keeps us bundled, suffocating as mommy tries desperately to release us from our sweltering prisons. Life is like that sometimes isn?t it? So it is with heavy heart and not a little acid indigestion that I fondly wish Peckery happiness and success in all of his endeavors and to say watch out for static electricity, that can be a doozie up there in the cold north for all sorts of knitted articles, especially sock monkeys. And if the spirit ever moves you to seek counsel and to return to the land of the frigid may life welcome you back amongst other creatures and folks who will welcome your knitted softness, fingerless hands, and sewn on smile.

Ok people, I was taking a nap over in the "Politics Live Online" forum when I woke up and found Peckery's farewell message here. What exactly was going on during my week+ long hiatus? huh.gif I made my post here and then all heck broke loose. What have I missed? What exactly did Peckery do wrong (or is alleged to have done)?

Posted by: Macfive 09-Jun-2004, 07:14 PM
I've read some of the posts here. No one is at odds with Peckery. The board guidelines and terms of service are clearly stated. I have also posted a number of messages and have re-arranged the board so that the two types of conversation that I previously mention can co-exist.

I know that I am not winning any popularity polls with some tightening of the board guidelines. I always try to do my best and explain to members what the issues are when there is a problem with a post. I know it is not a nice thing to go through, so that is why I always always wish the very best to members that decide to leave and I express that to them.

Peckery is always welcomed back to this forum as a member. And I can assure you that I will continue to be fair and objective when there are issues on this board.

As always, thanks for your continued support.

I did not know you well, but I enjoyed your funny quips and hope your travels to the north pole will bring you full circle back to here.

Oh, good Lord. I never even noticed you were saying poplar. tongue.gif

Posted by: MacEoghainn 10-Jun-2004, 03:51 PM
The reason poplar bears are so deadly is that they look like trees. That and the fact you'd never expect to see a tree at the North Pole is what dooms you. lol.gif

I have good news. The King has decreed that the good people of CelticRadio deserve their Peckery back. Therefore, let it be known that Peckery has been reinstated to full membership of the land of CelticRadio......

now begin the Days of the Peckery.......we shall wait for his return.........

Hola and most respected greetings oh great and revered Macfive. As in all things concerning your most wonderful and grand kingdom of celtic radio we defer to your inspired and unerring judgement. We would rather have severe leg cramps then either approach the most holy and high throne without genuflecting and paying our most humble respects to your most exalted person, or even appear to suggest that somewhere in your most trusted, fair, and most exacting judgement there might possibly be an error. But I don't recall actually asking for Peckery back. We were having a pretty good time eulogizing and missing him. laugh.gif Could it be that he is holding your family secuestered until you issue that pardoning decree? If so, and if it is impossible to say so, just make some sort of sign, you know, like blink twice or something. We will mount a rescue force and happily subjugate that sock monkey once and for all. My trebuchet is oiled and ready for action if needed.

As ever, your most trusted and loyal subject,

Leo tongue.gif

By the way (trying to cover all the bases here) as in all things we truly respect your reason and superior guidance and look forward to the return of the Peckery.

I am glad you are back, could you please take care of your son Saki. He is causing a lot of problems down here.

Hay enfrentamientos en la Universidad de Panamá. El gobierno hicieron unas promesas sobre el pago de unas cuentas y ya han negado eso pago. Las estudiantes y profesores estan cerrando las calles y tirando piedras.

Posted by: BluegrassLady 12-Jun-2004, 12:32 AM
Ah, Peckery sir, now that you are back, could you please answer a most puzzling question...

Did you see any "poplar" bears while you were way up there? Because they greatly resemble trees, they have a tendency to sneak up on the unsuspecting. We have been much concerned because they apparently like to kidnap soft fuzzy things when they get ready to nap. These bears are, of course, not to be confused with the people eating "polar" bears. rolleyes.gif

Welcome back!! smile.gif
